Last month’s New Moon opened a new chapter in all of our relationship dynamics. This month’s New Moon in Scorpio moves the focus deeper into the relationship arena, into the turf where the real, tough battles occur: the highly charged area of joint resources and intimacy. They are taking center stage in every alliance right now. The time has come for a fresh look at what each of us is investing into alliances and what we are getting out of them. That look is going to translate into fresh approaches all around.

Change is all over this year’s Scorpio New Moon: deep, penetrating, enlightened, healing, golden-toned, liberating, even revolutionary and, above all, inescapable. The inescapable aspect comes from the New Moon’s ruler, Pluto, which completed the first of three squares to Saturn Sunday, the day before the New Moon. This aspect has forced assumptions, discrepancies and dissatisfactions to the surface. Look back on the last two or three weeks of your life; evidence abounds of what this has meant. We’ve been rectifying imbalances in all manner of energy exchanges. Dying, unsupportable and stagnant structures, ground rules, business and personal relationships and patterns of all types have been broken, thrown out, killed or renegotiated. When Pluto is active, nothing can be swept under the rug or ignored. He rivets attention to everything that requires paring back, stripping down, pruning — whatever metaphor you choose, it leads to metamorphosis. The Saturn/Pluto square sets the theme for this New Moon cycle and everything we are setting in motion during it.

The New Moon’s other transforming attributes come from the Sun and Moon’s close contacts to three important points and clusters in the sky, which augur change on both personal and collective levels. The luminaries are squaring Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, who continue to travel together in the late degrees of Aquarius. The square points out any disconnect between existing arrangements and our dreams, best interests and higher wisdom and beliefs. It’s also drawing attention to situations that are based on an outmoded version of you, particularly one that’s damaged, flawed, incomplete or not capable of fully valuing yourself. Everything that’s out of whack in these areas is up for redoing. It’s time to align the worldly workings of joint situations with our higher aspirations and our current, masterful selves rather than the ghosts of our damaged pasts. All these shifts are beneficial; in fact, they’re heaven-sent. It will help to look at them from that perspective — and to ask for guidance on the highest, most loving and compassionate way to effect the changes that you are wanting to propose to others. Don’t sell yourself short, least of all in your vision. Expansive dreaming is one of the gifts of the Aquarian traveling party. Work with this Moon’s dynamic energy to pull boundless possibilities down to earth and deep into your cells.

The Sun and the Moon are also trining Uranus, unlocking confining perspectives and agreements and easing renegotiations. The way you’ve always done it is no longer the way to go. Innovation and novel approaches are the new order, so don’t fight or clutch at anything that blows open, up or apart. Fortunately, you aren’t likely to have that inclination. The skies are making everyone receptive to new ideas, you as well as the people around you. The shift is communal, too. The New Moon is in an opportunity aspect to the North Node of destiny, which represents the collective experience. As a society we have the chance for insight into how we share, as a society. (This characteristic is especially interesting in light of the timing of this New Moon. It’s on the heels of mid-term elections, many of which pivoted on taxes, a fundamentally Scorpionic issue.) Insight has the potential to be enlightened and compassionate and address an issue we have been struggling to overcome. It also has the potential to be whipped up by misstatements, misunderstandings, confusion and deliberate shading of the truth, particularly through mass media. This dichotomy would be the work of Neptune, who is the last planet that the luminaries contact before uniting in the New Moon. Don’t worry about whatever is flying around the Internet and on politically-aligned radio and TV programs. It does not have to control your personal experience. And it does not have to dictate society’s choices, either. The more of us who consciously embrace the higher potential, the more it permeates the experience of the collective.

More and more people are opening to change. Not only that, they’re learning and becoming adept at new approaches, perspectives and perceptions. The Sabian Symbol for today’s event addresses just that.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 25 Scorpio is:
AN X RAY PHOTOGRAPH HELPS WITH THE DIAGNOSIS.

Commentary: An ‘X-ray Photograph Helps With The Diagnosis’ of some ailment, dilemma or situation. The ‘X-ray Photograph’ allows things to be revealed that otherwise would not be seen or understood. The dictionary defines ‘Diagnosis’ as: “The act or process of identifying or determining the nature and cause of a disease or injury through evaluation of patient history, examination, and review of laboratory data.” It pierces through external layers to the core of things to show what’s really there or what’s really going on. This can allow for remedies to be decided and healing can be set in motion.

Oracle: You may be in need of a deeper understanding of your situation. There’s quite possibly the impulse to peel away the layers of the situation, using the emotions or the intellect. What is needed or wanted to be known and what is being done to reveal the reality or structure of the situation that is facing you? Talking to others may be necessary, as they can help reflect to you what is really going on from an uninvolved perspective. Looking somewhere “inside” for clues can bring issues to light that otherwise would have gone undetected. An ‘X-ray’ is able to see through layers into the structures of things, it cuts through extraneous, or unnecessary, details to get to the heart of the matter to find out what’s going on. We can use our minds to the same effect, with a clever ‘Diagnosis’ we can delve into things to find solutions and remedies. Likewise, a ‘Photograph’ can freeze life in one moment of time. These “snapshots” can show us many things and can answer questions that may have otherwise long gone unanswered. Someone in this story can be feeling that it is impossible to hide anything as someone is scrutinizing every move that’s made. Look deeply, you’ll come up with a ‘Diagnosis’.

The Caution: Disregarding the flesh on the outside-the humanity of people. Invading other people’s psychic or intellectual space. Undressing or revealing people through subtle manipulation. Always being intense and dissatisfied with the easy, or obvious, answers.
