“Professional Aquarian” is Kathy Biehl’s preferred label for her career, which has bridged intuition and the rational mind for more than 20 years. As an astrologer, Tarot master and writer, she helps her clients, students and audiences understand (and laugh about!) themselves, their relationships and their options. Her multi-faceted life experiences – including as a creative, performer, small business owner, published author and lawyer – bring practicality and real-world insight to a variety of issues, particularly ones involving business questions and planning. She has a knack for translating technical and esoteric concepts into accessible and often entertaining language, as well as for opening eyes to other ways of viewing situations, choices and even reality. She makes these traits available to clients and non-clients alike through her Astro-Insight newsletter, which examines and explains the current astrological climate with information that readers can apply to their lives. Furthering her desire to increase astrology’s appeal and availability, she is the creator of Family Dynamics chart report binders, customized and personalized reference books that analyze members of a family and how they interact. In all her services, her goal is giving people tools for understanding, accepting and empowering themselves.

Kathy’s passion for astrology began in junior high, when she read her way through the metaphysical sections of various branches of the Dallas Public Library. By high school she was doing Tarot readings and giving her friends hand-written birth chart interpretations. She was inspired by Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs to write a monthly sun sign astrology column for the school newspaper, which ran for her entire senior year, without conflict, in the Bible belt. Her formal studies took place at the Houston Institute of Astrology and in seminars and workshops with many of the country’s prominent astrologers. She has maintained an astrology practice since the mid-1980s, which includes advising business owners and working in tandem with therapists.

Kathy earned a B.A. in German (the literary fairy tales of which honed her ability to work with symbolism) from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. She has written about astrology for a variety of national and Houston-based general interest publications, contributed astrological humor to The Mountain Astrologer and covered copyright and ethics issues in the profession for The Ingress and the memberletter. Her writing has also appeared in a spectrum of national, regional, local and Internet publications, on food and wine, off-beat travel, the arts and the law. She has taught and lectured on astrology and Tarot in Texas, Manhattan and New Jersey (and taught legal subjects at Rice University and The University of Houston Law Center.). Her program of lectures and seminars includes Astro-Insight into current transits, using the Tarot in everyday life, and the spiritual basics of self-employment. She is certified as a healer by the Institute of Spiritual Development in Sparta, NJ, and has also studied Reiki (level one), Emotional Freedom Technique and pranic healing.
