Weekly Weather Report

by Britt Martin

By the time we get going on Monday, the Full Moon at 19 Pisces will have peaked. Check out Anna Chapman’s amazing Harvest Full Moon report because it is a multi-layered event, all about unconscious fears and the limitless field of possibility. It’s kind of bizarre and amazing that this particular Moon, the Pisces Full Moon, follows so quickly on the heels of 9/11 and the commemorative events about it. I want to bring up Eckhart Tolle’s term “pain-body” because it speaks so clearly to this moment. In Cosmic Astrology, the pain-body is synonymous with the lower four body system, or the subtle energy bodies: the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical bodies; in short, our 3D selves. When you think about human suffering it happens in the mind through repetitive negative thoughts and memories; through emotions when we block the energy moving through us and hold on to or resist the flow of what we feel; through our bodies when we have a physical ailment that causes discomfort and pain. Spiritual suffering is harder to define, but it’s definitely a crisis of conscience. Pain-body sums it all up, doesn’t it?

What I love about looking at ourselves as multidimensional beings with energy fields and a “pain-body” is that it serves to elevate our awareness into the observer perspective where we can then breathe room into the space around that which causes us pain. It’s here that we can see beyond the abysmal situations that occurred that tainted the quality of our lives. It’s from the observer vantage point where we see and feel that we are not just a pain-body, but so much more. It’s only from this place, and after a thorough healing process, that we can even begin to conceive of the meaning of the teaching “forgiveness is good, but forgetting is better.” We must face and embrace the pain before it will dissolve. Weekly Weather Report

by Britt Martin

What a powerful clearing we have been through in the past 2 weeks! I had an unexpected vacation from technology, courtesy of hurricane Irene, as did Stephanie, which you may have read about. You all were left hanging from our words and likely being asked to stop “doing,” just like us. One thing I realized was the power of the dark of the Moon, that quiet and still time just before a new Moon. It is said a lot on this website “get still.” If you’re like me, a little voice in your head might sometimes respond with a “yeah, yeah,” which means “when I can get to that I will.” Well, I had a taste of stillness “forced” upon me (no power, phone, cell or internet service, no road out, and a raging flooded river coursing past your house will do that) that was so delicious and expansive I almost feel like I crave it now. It’s that thing – when the light turns on, they’re on. I want to make sure that every month at the dark of the Moon I take a break from it all and spend time in the potent nothingness. Next time, though, with amenities close by.

We begin this week in the First Quarter Moon phase. Whatever resolve you put forth at the new Moon on Sunday Aug 28th is beginning to take shape and you must make some decisions about where it is going to go – whatever “it” is is bound to be related to your health, wellbeing, and your overall alignment to your truth. Now is the time to really take the stand that will bring this truth into form.

The Mercury cycle is coming to a close and by Friday we will be on to a whole new phase related to our mental body – that part of our consciousness focused on receiving directions from, following, and Knowing our higher Self (aka communication). Our summer projects will be completed or move into a whole new phase. We are so much clearer about what really matters that when we step out into a new direction Friday we can be sure it is connected to our redefined truth.

Jupiter has been giving us strength training sessions lately. Have you found inner resources you never thought you had recently? Yep, that’s the grace of Jupiter. Last week as I hiked out of the Catskills where Stephanie and our group of 11 were trapped, I was crystal clear about my own strength. We were mentally prepared to traverse rapidly moving water and broken, washed out bridge debris for miles if we had to. I remember distinctly not feeling very hungry (although I did eat a chocolate cup cake for breakfast before we set out on our journey ). Our adventure was physically challenging. We did have to crawl down and over a collapsed bridge and trek through ankle deep mud for 50 feet hauling our baggage in the air, and listen to person after person tell us there was no way out. But after each wash out we made it through, we were met with something miraculous and easy. Three different trucks picked us up at three different locations to shuttle us to the next obstacle. This saved us miles of walking!! And it was proof in our minds to keep going, to keep moving beyond any perceived limitation.

We made it out of our location in something like 3 hours (ridiculous!), where we thought it might take us all day and get us no where. All 11 of us got ferried to a Red Cross shelter not far away set up at Belleayre Ski Resort, AND by 2am we were all in our own homes in an around Manhattan because roads had opened and 4 of our loved ones managed to get through to pick us up!! It was inner and outer strength, both personal and collective that we experienced. Yes, I crashed into a strange exhaustion for one day, but by the second I was feeling like I had my bearings again even though my home on Long Island didn’t regain power for another 2 days, so I needed to find alternate ways to connect with the world). I am completely altered in ways I cannot yet describe which is why I’m certain you are too. Putting the drama of my story aside, I hope you can relate it to your own experience.

Whatever energy you’ve had to muster to get over seemingly insurmountable challenges or murky unknowns is paying off now. This week the newness of last week will take form and start to show itself and once again we will have an opportunity to come to know ourselves even better than before. The universe is always speaking to us telling us exactly where we are.

Monday:

Jupiter stationed retrograde last week at 10 Taurus. Retrograde cycles always turn our focus inward, so with Jupiter we are experiencing an inner expansion beyond anything we’ve ever known. We are in new territory in the 5D realm. Mercury parallels Jupiter mid-day. Pay close attention to your inner messenger – the soft, loving voice. The realization of the big picture of the last half of the summer is coming together. The Moon goes void in Sagittarius for two hours in the late evening after sextiling Neptune. Take this time to just be and allow yourself to drift off into the vastness of the stillness.

Tuesday:

With the Moon in Capricorn building most of the day to a trine with Jupiter, it should be a day where we feel like we can take on the world. Jupiter has been active lately influencing the stretch we feel in our social conscience. We are recognizing we can take on so much more than we imagined and make a greater difference when we stop resisting change and boldly approach the unknown.

Wednesday:

Our night time experience probably involved a placement test around how well we are integrating the lesson of the mirrored self into our lives. But challenges aside, as the afternoon approaches we will reap the healing benefits of being in the flow with our newly cleared heart center. Mars opposes the Moon at 4:36p EDT kicking off a 13 hour Moon void period. It’s the perfect time to really see what your physical body is trying to communicate – the answer is in the reflection you experience and your intuition.

Thursday:

The Moon enters Aquarius in the early am and enters its Gibbous phase, which is all about integration and adaptation. Mercury opposes Neptune, so things are not meant to be very clear, although lucid moments are possible and are the gifts of being open in this energetic. The dynamic of the day is engaged detachment, where “out of the box” thinking happens. It’s about creative envisioning.

Friday:

The Moon continues moving through Aquarius and Mercury officially leaves his direct shadow. We are on a whole new journey now regarding communication and the clearing of our mental bodies. Mercury enters Virgo in the wee hours of the night joining the Sun and Venus in bringing our focus toward health and wellbeing. Mercury in Virgo is discerning, which is different than being analytical or critical. It involves the ability to make subtle distinctions, which are based on keen insight and is therefore more connected to the heart. Look for ways to keep your awareness firmly in your heart center and then think from there – it will save you the anxiety of too much mental focus.

Saturday:

Half the day today is spent in the Aquarian Moon and after an idyllic mid-day 2 hour Moon void, the Moon enters Pisces. It’s a day to be open and not overly focused. Whenever we feel confusion, it’s usually because we’ve put our focus on something out there and somehow stopped listening to our inner voice. Reconnect by lightly tapping on your heart or third eye. Venus and Mars sextile each other late tonight making for a great exchange in relationships.

Sunday:

When the Moon entered Pisces yesterday afternoon we began to resonate with the pending Full Moon happening tomorrow at 19 Pisces at 5:27am EST. The Virgo/Pisces polarity is a big deal these days. All the water events happening lately are about this healing/enlightenment dynamic that is undeniably moving us into new realms of consciousness. Jupiter is once again focal, sextiling the Moon at 11:17am EDT. Inner expansion is inevitable. Be a witness to it.

Weekly Weather Report

We are on the home stretch dealing with Mercury being retrograde. Most of the challenges have been doled out and we are in some sense beyond them, but still sorting out the details. We will have a few more weeks to smooth out the wrinkles. How did you do? If you can laugh at any of it, the good the bad and the ugly, you are golden. Even a forced laugh is better than bitching, so allow yourself to get a little bit goofy about your goofiness. Is it not clear that the hardships we suffer are mostly in our heads? And that’s not to belittle any of our experiences, bad news, or upsets. It’s just to emphasize how it’s our response-ability to see these times as temporary and illusive states of being. When are we collectively going to say, “Yay, Mercury retrograde is about to begin! I get to work out the kinks in the way I commune with myself and clear out resistance and fear within my mental body.” I am going to endeavor to be that way next time around. I hope you will join me.

So as Mercury, The Great Messenger, starts to slow down, station and turn direct on Friday, remember you are called all week to slow down physically, too. That means slowing down in traffic, easing up on your electronic usage, lightening up your daily activities, and giving lots of forgiving room to all other modes of communications. Slowing down always invites a deepening of Trust – trust in our selves, other people, the laws of the universe, divine timing, and whatever you want to call surrender. Surrender is distinct from giving up or enduring. It is not Pollyanna-ish new-age nice-making. It isn’t something you can think of. It’s an experience. Often surrender happens in our darkest and seemingly lowest moments as a kind of gigantic, humble release. We have all experienced it in some way. With our mental body, reflected in the actions of Mercury, slowing down we may be more apt to stumble upon this kind of experience this week. It is really an act of grace. Receive it if you are so lucky to be given it!

This week we also finish the Last Quarter Moon phase and enter into the final cycle before the New Moon, called the Balsamic phase. If you have picked this week for vacation, well done. You are probably in for some solid R & R. The Balsamic phase is where we relish our accomplishments and clear the decks in preparation for the new cycle. Sunday the Moon will be new at 5 degrees Virgo. As the Moon fades to dark over the course of the week and Mercury slows to an apparent halt, you can imagine that we will not be feeling super motivated. It is an ideal energetic for relaxing into the feminine aspect of being – quietude, contemplation, healing, embracing your shadow, and other heart-oriented spiritual exploration. In the dark of the Moon you can go far out in the dimensions of your consciousness. It’s often a spacious and dreamlike time to open up to what might be possibile.

The Sun moves into Virgo on Tuesday shifting the Leo focus on learning how to “just be” to making healing and the process of alignment our primary focus. The Sun in Virgo helps us all orient toward wellness, which often means digging up and dealing with how we are out of whack. The financial upheavals in the leading western countries continue to incite stress, constraint and challenge on many fronts, but really capture the misalignments at large. As it hits home to more and more of us in personal ways, fear and anxiety builds in a palpable way. In an insightful article by Mayan Calendar expert Carl Johan Calleman, he talks about entering a historically tumultuous phase in the calendar, but that disruption and upheaval coexist with the potential for positive transformation. I think that we are getting so used to this kind of perspective that it’s old hat. I hope so anyway. Be the light-worker you are and when the fear level builds move steadfast into holding space for positive transformation. It’s what we are trained to do; it’s what we know to do.

From my own experience, I can say that going through a financial crisis can help you burn through huge amounts of survival based fear in a short amount of time. It can be a huge purification. The Earth is in a purification water cycle, so it all really does makes sense. It’s sort of like the surrender thing – when you get to ‘zero’ (either in the bank or in another rock bottom way) you start to see how the universe never fails to rise up to meet you. So many great spiritual teachings and teachers talk about the zero point, that I run the risk of being cliché here. Again, when fear is most gripping we can often be accident prone in a good way, because we are setting ourselves up to have an experience of grace – to be graced by the universe/god/source/our own higher self. So don’t be fooled by the drama and fear-based mantra of the media. Your heart-based wisdom knows better than that.

Monday:

The Moon is in Gemini all day. The Moon builds to a semi-sextile with Jupiter at 4pm EDT. This means something brewing has great potential, so keep at it. The Moon makes the same aspect to Mars later at night lending energy to accomplish anything we might fancy. The Sun opposes Neptune in the evening, too, and clarity is not the point of anything tonight. Just be a witness to the creative process within yourself and don’t be attached to results. Let the energy move freely through you.

Tuesday:

The Sun leaves Leo and begins its month long journey in Virgo, The Healer. The Moon is still in Gemini all day, enlivening and brightening our moods. Especially feel good is the morning’s Moon sextile to the great messenger, Mercury. Agreement, charm, and an imaginative perspective are all possible today. It’s a good day to let all seriousness go, not for frivolity, but because being Light is healing. Try on a belly laugh.

Wednesday:

You might want to jot down dreams this morning after a very dreamy dreamtime. It may be hard to wake up and get to it, because the Moon goes void for an hour around dawn. When the Moon moves into Cancer we will enter into more of an emotional state of being overall. There is a lot of activity as the Moon connects gracefully with the Sun and Venus in the first part of the day. Emotional triggers are plucked in the second half of the day, requiring honesty and empowerment rather than defensiveness or insecurity.

Thursday:

Today requires some finesse and gear shifting. The Moon goes void at 9:04am EDT all day and Mercury is stationing to turn direct. It is a day to test just how well you can be motivated and act from the heart. Once again throw out your defenses for a refreshing does of vulnerability. Heart-based vulnerability is authenticity. By the evening Venus trines Pluto transforming all tensions and any relationship hiccups from earlier on into flow and harmony. Here is when we remember change is good.

Friday:

It is a very quiet and slow moving morning with the Moon still void of course and Mercury being still. If you can go into the stillness and not fight it, much insight can be gained. Before the Moon goes into the warmth of Leo, you will face a mysterious crossroads. Choose the path of the heart and don’t look back or second-guess it. This evening the Moon trines Uranus and self-expression takes on a surprisingly unique form. Keep choosing Love.

Saturday:

Mercury has stationed direct. You have likely re-evaluated your life in such a way that the path of your heart is speaking to you differently. You may be clearer now on how, where, and why you can serve the world in a greater capacity. The Leo Moon is very active today in a mostly free flowing and up-beat way. Any gathering this evening will be marked by moving conversation if spoken from an open and honest place.

Sunday

A restful and restorative sleep enables us to embark on the day with strong bearings. The Sun trines Pluto late morning and positive life-force conviction is a transformative energetic working it’s magic within us. A brief Moon void gives us pause before the second half of the day, which builds toward a New Moon at 5 Virgo. The New Moon is all about what’s practical, productive and oriented toward optimal wellbeing. Get ready to plant your seeds in the form of intentions for your wellness in mind, body and spirit.
