Mercury enters his “shadow” first thing this week, which means we begin the Mercury retrograde cycle. Don’t panic, but do back up your computer, and other technology that holds data for you, on a regular basis from here on out. Of course, if your technology fails, as mine did last cycle, then you are ready for an upgrade (code for surrender). Computers are such great teachers of patience, aren’t they? Mercury doesn’t actually turn retrograde until March 12, but it is my experience that the issues we start having now are because they are an intrinsic part of our revision process when the planet ruling our mental body turns our focus inward.

The Piscean dynamic is really the focus this week. In every one of us exists the consciousness of Pisces, not just those with personal connections to this sign or the planet Neptune in their birth chart. Pisces, like all of the other signs of the zodiac, in the language of Cosmic Astrology is an aspect of the One consciousness – you know, like the flavors of ice cream bit. And while all of us individually are on yearly cycles of our own related to our birth days, the collective consciousness, of which we are a part, is currently focused here on the qualities of Pisces. Like understanding the Mayan calendar, grasping multiple cycles and influences happening simultaneously requires nonlinear conceptualizing. Maybe this is what the traditional symbol of Pisces really means; two fish swimming in opposition could just be a 2 dimensional depiction of spiraling energy? The upgraded 5D symbol of Pisces is the Limitless Field of Potential, a kind of spiral in and of itself.

Every single day this week involves an aspect to an inner planet – either the Sun, Mercury, or Venus (in addition to all of the Moon aspects). This does not happen every week, so we can look forward to a good deal of connectivity in our lives. Aspects are like connections and relationships and the challenge I have every week is to describe the quality of these points of interest, not to anticipate the future, but so that we can be awake in the midst of our experiences. I just read Zoe Moon’s Monthly Horoscope and love her realization that with Neptune now in its ruling sign, Pisces, we can look forward to a renaissance. This word’s roots essentially mean to be born again and when we use it we typically are talking about a revival in creative cultural expressions. Also worthwhile to note is that on the cosmic clock (the zodiacal wheel for Cosmic Astrology) the Master who holds the Pisces consciousness for humanity is Jesus. Fascinating, isn’t it? Putting all religion, history and belief aside, Jesus is a figure we can all generally relate to as an icon of unconditional love and commitment to embodying higher spiritual principles. This is ultimately what the energy of Neptune, the planet of enlightenment, is meant to deliver us all to. Pisces on the cosmic clock is where we come into self mastery, where the expansion of our consciousness supports our journey toward expressing our greatness. Watch how your creative projects and outlets begin to take on a new shape. If you are too busy with work, family and other life stuff to have a creative outlet, seriously reconsider carving time out to do something inspiring at least once a season. Value it as a moving meditation vital to living from the heart center. Many of us were shut down creatively as kids and have way too much negative mental chatter going about being creative. Now that the heart center is really becoming our root chakra, that should all start to shift, as long as you are willing and recognize the significance of self expression. Continue
