Is it Only Mercury Retrograde?

Five days ago, Mercury, as he does every 115.88 days, reversed direction into that highly touted, dreaded era known as Mercury retrograde. We all know what that means. Communication, contracts, conversation, chatter, e-mails and everything written, spoken or with communication devices tends to run amok. Granted, many people state every Mercury retrograde period that this is the worst one ever. Those persons issuing such observations usually have the position of retrograding Mercury irritating their charts and the perception may be celestially subjective.
But is this Mercury retrograde more potent than usual? I think so. Is there a reason? Of course. Actually a handful of reasons exist, much to Mercury’s delight. Mercury stationed and turned retrograde on the most zodiacally advanced stars (by precession, that is) of the Pleiades where stars now lie in Gemini, not Taurus. You know the Pleiades… the Seven Weeping sisters. Just to add more for the money, Mercury stood conjunct the first body in space named for Aboriginal lore – Altjira. Taking the life game board one level higher, Mercury formed a reasonably tight right angle to the other major underworld deity dwarf planet thing: Orcus – a pattern that increases in potency over the next week. That enough?
While not declaring support for the Pleiadian Agenda widely featured throughout cyberspace as well as space, this asterism of the sign of Taurus has long stood for grief, remorse and lamenting. But why? When Eris conspired with Jupiter to reverse the order of the heavens for one day to correct a political wrong – according to Jupiter – occurring in the land of Mycenae, the Sun and Moon rose in the west, the stars reversed their tracks and the Pleiades wept. Yes, but it was only one day of major discomfort. In shamanic traditions clusters of seven stars offer potent points of healing through the processes of lamenting, recapitulation and isolation to restore one’s relationship with the Creator. Uncomfortable in the short term, these healing protocols produce positive results: the shedding of grief and loss, shame and blame. So what if the connection of this station of Mercury to this point, and its naturally sensitivity to reversal of motion, is used to clear emotional decks about shifts in fate that do not align with one’s greatest aspirations? Give it a good day. Dive into the moaning and groaning, alone and imposing the emotional clearing on no other, and get it the hell done. After, the sky clears… okay at least the mind and one can cogently re-engage with life.
Ah yes, and to take the Mercurial conditions noted in paragraph two above out of order to propitiate to Mercury’s retrogradation, that brings us to Mercury’s lingering square to Orcus. Or was that in the third paragraph? Anyway, Mercury has been in aspect with Orcus since about April 27th-ish and continues the pattern through May 18th-ish. The last gasp of this pattern clears about June 14th-ish. Orcus, like Pluto, was seen by the Etruscans as the underworld lord of Hades. Also like Pluto, Orcus is most likely a dwarf planet and some day shall receive acknowledgment as such. Orcus was the deity noted for punishing those who break oaths. Given that Mercury rules words and such, and that Mercury had a hall pass such that he could enter, linger in and depart Hades at will, this cycle intends to bring such oaths and proclamations to light. Expect bluffs to be called; ultimatums to be issued. Consider the news commentator here in the U. S. who promised to be water boarded to raise funds for charity and prove the interrogation technique is not torture. He’s not shown up at the water park yet. Or how about the baseball super star who said he was taking a doctor’s prescription for a health matter when he tested positive for steroids? Remind me why a baseball player needs a female fertility drug? Consider the pending legislation for credit card reform and the actions of freaked out credit card companies on the eve of such a law. Interest rates continue to spike on card issuers’ whims and credit lines get lowered for even the best of customers. Can Mercury’s movement address such considerations?
Not with a detached, apathetic humankind it can’t… which leads to the alignment of the silver-tongued planet with the Aboriginally named Kuiper Belt Object, Altjira. According to the Aranda tribe of the central outback, Altjira was the sky father and god of Alchera – dream time. He is credited for creating Earth and its occupants, then retiring to the top of the sky where he resides, remaining indifferent to humankind. Also known as Sky-Dweller or All Father, he stands on the feet of emu while his wife and offspring have the feet of dogs for whatever worth that mythic trivia renders.
One of the observed effects of the global economic crisis appears in a curious sort of collective detachment, probably exacerbated by Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune matching wits in the sky. Seems most people are so into their own plight, it’s hard to recognize, let alone addressing the woes of the world. Many walk about awake, but so preoccupied with personal imaginings it’s as if they walk about in a blurry dream state. Again, here’s another effect of Mercury and the ruler of dream time compounded by the troika of Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune.
So then, what handy tips can be applied to this retrograde Mercury given the above causes? How about a handy, printable, easy to lose list for Mercury’s backtracking?
Follow through on promises and commitments previously made and do so in a timely and conscious matter.
Make no statements you cannot uphold or have no intention to uphold.
Of course think before you speak. But with this trend, how about instead of thinking about something or thinking something over (thinking something through would be a more ideal word choice), take an isolated moment or fifteen and dream on it.
Say what you mean. Hedge no bets or traipse around the block to get next door.
Reconnect with all feelings, especially the not so warm and fuzzy ones. Lament (in solitude) if you must, but clear out all retarding emotional goo.
Re-establish belief in an option-oriented reality. Re-engage with your belief in fate, fortune and dharma.Get back on board with time. If you need to compress something, compress space and move through the squeezed region in a more expeditious manner. Why do you think the new Star Trek just came out?
Spread no gossip.
Check facts, three times if you must.
Engage the brain, using the inspiration of dream time before articulating.
Realize the futility of cursing at electronic devices that fail to match up with your psychic intentions.
Get back involved with your emotions, psyche and people in your life. No detachment or inattention allowed. Being overly aloof might build you a reputation as a real pain in the patootie and one of those “hard to reach” folks.
When removing batteries from a communication device, make note of how the new replacement battery should be inserted.
Decide which is greener: paper or plastic bags at your local market. Okay, kidding about that one.
No forwarding of the Mars is closer than it will ever be forever e-mails. Not kidding. That was true in 2005, not now and not this coming August. Mercury and Orcus punish such non-compliance with bad luck with paper clips and staples.
Now, since Mercury is retrograde, please, please, do not make the mistake of putting life on hold. If you have contracts pending, applications for grants to file or what have you, use the 18th when Mercury-Earth and Sun stand in a line. If you have a major transit working – the kind people covet – do not let Mercury ruin the use of that pattern. Too many times people ignore perfectly good and superior power transits just because the trickster Mercury retraces a few steps.
All that scribed, I’m not editing this. I’m trusting that when I dreamt this GT last night that I finished the dream before my cat meowed for morning chow.

A Spiritual Pandemic

Pandemic! What a great and powerful word to awaken humanity to the fact that the collective is now thinking globally and acting locally. It is remarkable that something as simple as the fear of a little germ can link together the people of Earth. Humanity has taken another step toward being a global community. There is no doubt now that you have anchored within your consciousness the reality that you are all connected, interdependent and recognize the importance of being self-responsible. This is not a time to fear. It is a time to celebrate.
Your collective experience and explorations living in the third dimension have come full circle. This is a time where you will begin to rethink and renegotiate everything. Much of what you knew to be true you will discover is out of date. Realities that you dreamed about you will soon discover is the new reality you are now entering. These current times are causing a spiritual pandemic. This means that the boundaries between physical realities, cultures, religions, dimensions, social statuses and educational levels have been compromised and are breaking down. This spiritual pandemic means the entire world is waking up. Humanity is moving toward unity and oneness with all living beings of Earth. This spiritual pandemic will naturally evolve all life into a global community. Our actions will be a grand orchestrated collaboration focused on the well being of all living things. You can see symptoms of this transformation in every direction of your reality. This is the completion of ancient prophecy that you wrote about a long time ago.
The pandemics in your Earth’s environment, your economic systems, your political systems, your consciousness, your physical realities and even your immune systems are morphing right before your eyes. You are now having a full on experience of what we like to call the Earth’s stimulus package. You share the same planet . . . you breathe the same air . . . you even share the same viruses and bacteria! This is not new. You were never separate from each other. You just forgot you were always connected to all that lives.
The Earth’s shifting environment is stimulating you to change the way you interact with Earth, the solar system, and the universe. This is showing up as the acceleration of using green technologies . . . including using solar power to recycling. Many of you are getting closer and in touch with Earth once again. Your gardens are sprouting in your environment, but also your internal gardens are flourishing.
Your shifting global economic system is impelling you to move toward one that is based on service and sharing. You will see a huge shift in values. You are evolving from a self-centered “What is in it for Me?” mentality, into a reality that you act from the knowing that you are a part of a global community. You recognize that everything you do affects every other living thing.
These times are compelling you to trust spirit over your physical and monetary assets. You were never meant to trust that which is outside of yourself. Your true nature is knowing that you are a 100%, self-contained, creative being with all the tools needed to live abundantly. It was never your destiny to toil to make a living. There is freedom right out in front of you.
Your physical body is morphing so quickly to the arrival of the new energy that you have to let go and let it be. This is causing you a lot of strange physical symptoms. The shifts are coming without delay and it takes your breath away. Even your immune system is evolving quickly so as to be able to adapt to the evolving energy of all life on the planet. Every single living thing in your environment is changing on a molecular level. From your body, to the earth, trees and plants, minerals, even viruses and bacteria are all evolving together to stay in harmony. This is not something to be feared. It is something to be excited about. Remember your body is an amazing self-healing vehicle. You constantly underestimate its regenerative power and forget it is evolving with everything else on this Earth. Disease is not why you drop your body to move on; it is just your human excuse. You leave this world when you have completed your mission and that is it. Let us remind you that you are not done yet!
Your consciousness is expanding to accept the utter vastness of magical and powerful new realities. You are beginning to live within these realities. You are enjoying the challenges and wholeheartedly except the huge void of unqualified energy out in front of you. It is an exciting, fascinating and highly creative time for you. It can also be a confusing time as you let go of the old and bring in the new all at the same time. Remember you are not going crazy . . . you are just waking up! This is something to celebrate. You are beginning to realize that the only way your life flows in these days is to be truly authentic to yourself and true to your heart. Many of you will be asked to make bold moves in your life. Others will stay more behind-the-scenes fine-tuning everything around them. You all are working toward the same goal . . . if you know it or not.
Do not let fear rob you of this incredible moment. This is why you came to Earth at this time. You are experiencing a huge evolutionary leap of the soul. Only the brave and courageous could be here at this time. You may not feel brave today, but we assure you, you are incredibly brave to take on and assist with the Earth’s final step into oneness with the solar system and our multi-dimensional universe.
Do not let fear of global health issues, political unrest, economic challenges, war and terrorism stop you from being the truth of who you are. Your old, outdated, human nature naturally wants to cast blame on others for what is going on in your world today. This is not a conspiracy or diabolical plan by members of an elite group who we think are in power. This is propaganda that puts you in fear. Know that everything that is happening on this planet is happening because you allowed it to be so. It is a time to take full responsibility for the reality we have manifested in this dimension. Each living being will experience this evolution based on their own belief system. Ask yourself “What do you believe today?” All the issues your world is facing right now are just part of the Earth’s stimulus package to help you stimulate your evolution . . . and it is working.
Evolution is a messy process. It always has been and always will be. Change and evolution is about tearing down the old and creating the new. Nature does this every moment. We do not know why humanity forgot that you are a part of this. But you did, and this is why you struggle and suffer sometimes during evolutionary pulses like the one you are in today. The cycles have come full circle and you are ready for the quantum leap to a new reality.
Remember that the best defense to the challenges of these times is to have a good offense. Your offense is acting from the authenticity of who you are. You may know this as your inner light, awareness, consciousness, etc…, but the fact is that there are only two choices you can make: You can choose fear, which is a lie and not who you are. Or you can choose LOVE, which is the truth of who you are, and you can keep on keeping on with the evolution. Fear will stop your evolution in its tracks. Love will not only accelerate your path, but it will make it an exciting adventure for you. Be positive, fearless and bold. Love is the unifier of all life and a protector of anything that you conceive could cause you harm. You are safe . . . you always have been.
Quit pretending your cool and calm on the outside, when on the inside you feel like you are going crazy. Let your support groups around you know what you are going through. We assure you that they are feeling the same things. It is insane to execute this evolving by yourself. There is a great sanity gained when our extended families come together in support of each other. It is another step toward global community and living in non-judgment. Remember there is an insidious, un-spoken rule that to be spiritual we must honey-coat the things we do not like. Honey-coating any part of the experience of this world is just a way to avoid the blessings and gifts of evolution of the current issue. When we avoid different aspects of our experience, we are also judging the greater divine plan that was set into motion by the Creator and our collective consciousness.
When you experience a peaceful moment, drink it in and enjoy every second of it. Do not worry that you are feeling stuck or not evolving. This is merely a rest stop so you can recharge and prepare for another leap into the next reality. Rest is good. Enjoy its rare and welcomed appearance of quiet and calmness.
There are many that will not like this message. They will criticize it and fight against it. These are the ones who teach us compassion. These are the ones that we must love and support . . . because you have been in their shoes more than once or twice yourself.
We realize that what we are asking you to do is a huge step of faith. We are asking you to take a leap into a void where you cannot see its destination. We encourage you to put your fear addictions behind you, and to begin to act from the love and truth that you already know in your heart. If you do this, the path will unfold in front of you with each step you take, and you will be traveling in good company!

¡Bienvenidos! It’s Cinco de Mayo and in this part of the world it’s time for a fiesta as we celebrate alongside our Mexican neighbors. Of course those in Mexico living under the transit-rich horoscope of that country might be a bit less festive than usual. There was a notable earthquake a week ago, extreme violence spawned by drug wars and of course, everybody’s new target of fear, swine flu.
We’re now enduring the healer Chiron aligned with the planet who rules drugs, fear and contagious influences, Neptune, now traveling without restriction in the sign of mass population, Aquarius. Thus, come the flu outbreak, news thereof, and subsequent human reaction. Those on the cautious side of the issue note that as Jupiter – the planet of exponential multiplication – joins this pre-existing condition later this month that swine flu should pandemically spread around the world, massively thinning the world’s population. Those on the other side of the Jupiter rulership camp note that Jupiter also oversees hype, propaganda and blatant exaggeration. Personally, I’m in that camp. In the past few days, the surge of outbreaks has been reduced and the revised death count in Mexico indicates a decline in earlier mortality figures. On the side of objective perspective, few contrast swine flu deaths to date with good ole seasonal flu deaths. In the U. S. in the current flu season thus far, 53 pediatric deaths have been reported and with the swine flu (or H1N1 as it’s more politely called to diminish impact on the pork industry) one death in the United States has been reported. Jupiter, noted for stacking stats to make the point he chooses to make, often fails to keep things in perspective. Neptune is involved, too. This planet can spread hysteria and irrational response faster than the bubonic plague swept through Europe centuries ago or a multi-level sales company conscripts recruits with promises of $50K a month or more.
Given that Jupiter can be optimism, subtle trends that indicate economic upturn appear to those willing to notice. Once people get out of fiscal fear, learn the lessons of the flipping past and market madness, perhaps can move back into a more prosperous present suggest these hints. Personally, I am chagrined at the vast number of astrological prophets and doom sayers blogging and forum posting on why it’s going to be horrible! Horrible they say! And how about that media!? Ruled by Neptune, they took this story and liberally spread it like SPF 90 in the Australia Outback. If my research is correct, this past week far more people died in Mexico of drug war related violence than swine flu. If my other observation is correct, the face mask is useless in drug war gunfire sprays and questionable for effectiveness against the H1N1 flu, however, should be worn while spraying sealant on car battery cables.
A global pandemic and economic doom create one reality. I maintain the need for the polar reality. Those who seek to proclaim doom and be right about their predictions which directly oppose a (re)turn to positive fate, somewhat unexpectedly shoot themselves in the foot – exactly the type of prediction one would suspect from Uranus in Pisces. Add to this search for polar reality the influence of Saturn in Virgo. Saturn wants facts, speculations based upon facts, critical thinking (the philosophical kind; not the judgmental kind) and viable plans with many check points where multiple choice options apply.
Acting as distant and potent substrate of the unconscious the dwarf planet Haumea, retrograde, stands in orb with the Sombrero Galaxy (13 Libra 45) as she inches toward her station on June 28th at 14 Libra 27. She is now just over a degree away from this enigmatic galaxy. Back in 1912, observations of the Sombrero Galaxy conducted by Vesto Slipher at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, confirmed his speculations about red shift. This development led to the postulation of an expanding universe and confirmed the existence of galaxies external to our own. Though some astronomers presently dispute red shift and its effects, the symbol of the Sombrero Galaxy carries the image of a runaway train. Give it a direction, a shove and watch it go, heading off to destinations unknown and at staggering speeds along the way. So, while we have Jupiter and Neptune pouring proverbial petrol onto panic fires, this fertility goddess runs, wearing what appears to be only a sombrero and a sarong, into vast previously unexplored regions and realms of awareness and consciousness.
On the 10th of May Mars aligns with the Sombrero Galaxy and Haumea from across the crowded sky, punching up the current themes and rendering some distinctly impolite comments leading up to his approach to the goddess of discord, Eris. For instance, Mars might observe that it is a good thing millions of people didn’t die of swine flu. Asks Mars, “With runaway real estate development, where would we bury them?” Very indelicate and impolite Mars would agree, but key points tend to be sharp and he’ll keep making them when summoned by celestial alignment. He adds as his tag that all the fuss about how many people could die seeks to uncover and repost the overturned world population sign covered with dust, water bottles, plastic shopping bags, beer cans and other human debris on the side of the road.
Mars soon defers to Venus… on the 18th to be precise. That’s when she follows suit and opposes Haumea and the Sombrero galaxy. She’ll follow Mars’ points and lead the way by highlighting issues of runaway fertility. Perhaps more extra-multiple birth instances will dot the news. Perhaps Octomom hits the media again. The combined manifestations of the flu, Aquarian energy, the current transits of the fertility goddess, Haumea and soon the patterns involving the fertility god, Makemake, bring humankind to a startling observation. “Holy cow! Where did all these people come from and how can the Earth continue to provide all they require?” While a focus upon ecological/environmental concerns rises, the focus on the resourcefulness of fertile minds to address the runaway population on this planet commences coalescing out of the mythic mists of the lands of Hawaii and Rapa Nui.
Hopefully humanity peers through the fog normally attributed to Neptune to take a clear head count on the issues concerning humanity. Back on the personal front, if there was ever a time to get off the sofa of speculation and into the laboratory of creative development to produce ideas spawned in the creativity of the fertility goddess and her companion transits to the sombrero, it’s now. If you want to have something worthy of a fiesta, explore your fecundity and develop ideas that on their own could become a runaway train into dimensions unknown. “Sounds like a lot of work,” Saturn might caution in a casual aside. No doubt it is, but it’s worth it. And that’s something to take to the bank in both a proverbial and economic sense, making your contribution to an ever-improving economy.
Meanwhile, Mercury stands poised, ready to retrograde within the next day. Given that most readers know what communication disruptions likely occur, let us all remember and apply the one day during Mercury retrograde where gain and progress naturally occur and where it is arguably appropriate to sign papers and conduct contractual dealings.
Ready? Got a pencil and paper and a reserve pencil? Jot down 09:56 GMT on May 18th. That’s the communicatively greased day, or at least plus or minus twelve hours of that time. Now for other curious Mercury phenomena… on the 25th Mercury, in Sagittarius from the Sun’s point of view, stands at its most-distant point from the Sun, moving at a third the speed of his maximum speed ability. Consider this part of the Mercury retrograde to be heightened in the need for speculation, clear thinking and logical discernment. Given that Jupiter is right with Neptune, stirring things into a swirling blur, think for yourself. Speak for yourself and double check the facts upon which you make major life decisions. Remember, Jupiter and Neptune create a time for optimism. With Chiron, it’s time for a clearing and healing. Get certain it all gets better and get on with it while the getting is good.
Tonight at the fiesta, why not toast the tantalizing trio in Aquarius? Offer a cheer for economic wellness, humanitarianism and a world that can easily wrap around your latest creative rendering. That’s the ticket!

Channel from the Master

This month there is an influx of Love coming your way in the form of the Bardo an investment in your higher life’s purpose to Be who you are. BE who you are in the sense that you need to be in the moment while discovering the mysteries within. Now why I am saying this is because it is time to understand the deeper mysteries of Life. Stepping off the wheel of karma is an important mission in and of itself. Stepping off with the Grace of the Divine at your back is the best way to do it. Know that your higher self set up your lessons for you to look back on to complete your journey home. To move forward now you need to surrender your past hurts and step off the wheel with Grace. This is true for many of you teachers who have come through in this lifetime to explain the karmic wheel to others – yet who are unable to understand it themselves. What this means is you will be explaining the karmic wheel to others from a perspective of lightworkers with some knowledge of how to get off the wheel by surrendering to the Divinity Within. Know that all answers lie within so stepping off the wheel requires a stillness to manifest in each and everyone of you. It is time.
So what I am asking you all to do is to step off with the Grace of the Divine at your back. Stop worrying about the past. It is over. Your mission now is to bring yourself into the light fully as you step off the wheel. Then you may bring others home. Your example alone is enough to shift the consciousness of others around you. By staying present there is so much more that will manifest in your life then you could have expected. But it is up to you Now. Knowing that you are ready to take this journey home will allow you the opportunity to get off the wheel in this lifetime of service by being present in the Divine’s Love for you…
