“I am a lover of what is, not because I’m a spiritual person, but because it hurts when I argue with reality.” —Byron Katie
The reality we experience is the reality we create and participate in. To argue with that would be to disagree with what we have created. 2012 is the year of becoming more aware of the reality I create. And knowing that I use all of my resources wisely to provide my self with the security I require. The Full Moon in Cancer will show us where our insecurities may lie or where we benefit from a deep empathy for our own human condition. We all require the necessities of life- food, shelter and nurturing in order to flourish here; in order to grow and acquire the confidence to be out there in the world.
What we integrate as children through the nourishment we are given via our mothers provides us with a framework to create our realities. This is a component of Cancer; so that by the time we experience the opposite sign, Capricorn, we have a well established platform from which to scale the heights.
This may be a time to examine relationships with the maternal figures in your life and to notice where any issues may exist that prevent you from manifesting goals. When our basic needs are not met as children subsequent behavior can erupt in anything from forms of passive aggressiveness designed to get what you did not receive as a child to the excessively violent temperaments of those who were not only denied but abused. At this Full Moon let us be grateful for the tools we have to establish self love and to become more fully aware of the self in relation to our earthly existence. This may sound all too serious but the result is more play, fun and pure enjoyment—the inner child. One thing Cancer demonstrates is an ability to provide everything the self needs based on instinct. We are guided to trust that instinctive nature through the light of the moon. In the beauty of the moon we identify with the divine self; we are lured seductively into a remembrance of self. Then wordlessly we bask in the warmth of perpetual nourishing; embraced by an eternal connection to the source of all abundance—my self.
Look within and blossom without. The blossom we seek externally is a temporary projection of the beauty that exists within us and is in perpetual motion, rising and falling with the ocean’s waves, the storm across the desert sands, the mass of humanity shuffling or raging through the crowded streets of any metropolis ankle deep in rubbish or suffering or unconditional love for the many who strive for perfection every day of their existence even if that is acquiring a piece of bread or a scrap of cloth to sell at market for a tuppence. We all are here with the same vision and that is to be here in a way that serves our highest good.
This Cancer/Capricorn dynamic focuses on our basic needs that when met translate into the resources required to be successful no matter what that means to each individual. The Sabian symbols which apply to the moon and the sun are, respectively, “a priest performing a marriage ceremony” and a “five year old carrying a bag of groceries”.
We have known for a long time how to nurture our selves and we know what the elements are that create balance and harmony in society. The assumed presence of a man and a woman in the wedding ceremony plus the presence of the priest, the earthly representation of divinity, is the trio that is unity. What more do we require to navigate waters ahead with ease and grace?
Perhaps a nudge from the Black Moon Lilith would facilitate our timely recognition of self as creator. Once again this point figures prominently, this time in square aspect to the moon/sun so that the term with ease and grace might be an intention we set to over ride what might be perceived as tumultuous and intense events. The Sabian symbol that represents the BML in Aries is “a young girl feeding birds in winter” which implies “overcoming crises with compassion”. This relates again to the feeling for the human condition and the need for empathy to carry us beyond our present state of experience. This we do from that point that exists in each of us beneath/inside/at the core of the self that is when all else is not.
The fixed star that conjuncts the moon is Wasat, a star at the center of the Gemini constellation. It resides at a place of deep balance within the sign of the twins and the dual nature that describes our existence here. It represents the potential within each of us to discover that point of peace where no matter what goes on around one, one remains in a state of equilibrium. Sometimes the interpretations of the fixed stars seem a bit antiquated but I will share the meaning of Wasat regardless. It is associated with chemicals and poisons and gas. Perhaps if the degree of Wasat (18 Cancer) aspects any of your personal planets you might want to be aware of what you put into your body or perhaps it would be a good time to do a cleanse to rid your self of any of toxic elements.
As Cancer and Capricorn rule the 4th and 10th houses of the chart and is the parental axis it would be beneficial to take a look at these in your own chart to access a deeper level of understanding of how your roots contribute to your visibility in the world. We have talked about the role of the mother with this Full Moon in Cancer. To discuss the role of the father in this chart we might look to Saturn the ruler of Capricorn. At 28 degrees Libra, Saturn stands quietly in aspect to Neptune, Jupiter, Chiron and Mercury. At this time the master of our limitations and the teacher who guides us beyond them through disciplined intention, brings us stability to access our wisdom, spiritual nature and the healer within and the precise thought, clarity of mind, to establish here what we know to be true within. Saturn supports us to do the work and to succeed. In Libra, Saturn is justice for all and freedom through understanding the nature of limitation. The Sabian symbol for 29 degrees of Libra (always round up) is “a deep sense of participation in, and commitment to, social processes which seek to bring to all men (people) Truth and a greater life.”
Considering the deep sensitivity of this Full Moon chart and the far reaching effects it may have upon us throughout this year, I felt that the fifth harmonic (the quintile aspect of 72 degrees and the potential to create; our gifts), the seventh harmonic (the septile aspect of 51.428…degrees and the challenges we may face en route to realization) and the ninth harmonic charts (the novile aspect of 40 degrees and our wisdom/vision and evolutionary intent) would have valuable information to complete the story.
Within the fifth harmonic chart we see a Uranus/Sun conjunction in opposition to a moon/Venus conjunction suggesting that our gifts are associated with our will to independence and freedom and the great compassion that is an instinctive aspect of our human nature. Our compassion is easily expressed when we are free and independent. Our light bursts forth when not obscured by fear.
In the seventh harmonic chart we see a struggle or challenge and that is to be overcome now. It relates to the thought pattern, “survival of the fittest”, an old human construct which undoubtedly had meaning at one time but has manifested in ways that apparently do not serve the highest good. Perhaps it could be replaced with something like, we all thrive in the light of creative expression. Many people with strong seventh harmonic charts are brilliant artists and creators. It is called a harmonic of challenge as it includes great flights of imagination as well as deep periods of introspection. Saturn trines a Neptune/Pluto conjunction and squares Juno in sextile to this pair and squares Venus. We are working on recognizing what lies beyond the ego and the desire nature.
At the ninth harmonic we take responsibility for our roles as messengers of the light. We use our wisdom in everyday experience to be discerning not disillusioned (head in the sand syndrome). We bring every thing into alignment through daily expression of the higher self that affects all living things in a positive and dynamic way. We are in service to far more than meets our eyes. We gather truth in relation to our basic needs that includes—“I have complete trust in my self as pure awareness.”
To assist us in ‘accomplishing our goals’, we have been given, as of December 24th, the seed for perfect balance (a little boost to the DNA). How quickly the seed grows depends upon the conditions in which it has been planted. But 6,832,000,000 (approx.) seeds provide quite a crop of peace and harmony. At this Full Moon it would behoove us to be grateful for our personal state of awareness and the continuance of enhancing that.
The Kogi of Columbia, a genuine lost civilization, fear that we do not hear words but are affected more by what we see. As dedicated caretakers of this planet they want us to know the potential risks we create based upon our actions. Whether we hear or see the message bottom line is, it is time to wake up.
This is a link to the homepage for the movie, Aluna, made with the help of the Kogi. Blessings and thank you.
