2012 Gemini New Moon Solar Eclipse

The New Moon this month falls upon an auspicious day that has been referenced through crop circles on August 9, 2005 and July 22, 2011 and interpreted through the Mayan calendar as a gateway. The gateway, at day zero according to Tzolkin calculation, leads into a 16 day period that ends as Venus retrograde crosses the Sun. Venus went retrograde 05/15 at 23 degrees Gemini. On the 5th of June both the Sun and Venus will be at 15 degrees Gemini. What does this mean?

There are various predictions that are aligned with this date. In Aztec prophecy the return of the feathered serpent, Quetzalcoatl, perhaps coincides with this date. Quetzalcoatl is known as the morning star or Venus. Nostradamus writes two verses that suggest that an earthquake of significant magnitude might occur on or near this date. Revelations 6:12-14 also makes reference to an earthquake occurring when the sixth seal is broken. This date is implicated as fulfilling these prophecies.

Complex calculations point to the return of the serpent and have been worked out well in advance of this date. These stories would seem to be symbolic and representative of a powerful change that is about to take place or is a continuation of a process that began a very long time ago that we have all been a part of since day one (when was that?). Perhaps the light of the morning star reaches this planet with intensified effect and it, crossing the Sun on June 5th, signifies a change in consciousness; a continuation in the change of consciousness because nothing is happening over night. It would seem to be part of the evolutionary journey here toward realization. And yet this is also a story and not one that is easily told once the spotlight of truth has fallen upon the shadow. What is there to tell? Only that we continue to seek based upon various sets of beliefs until we do not.

This New Moon at 0 degrees Gemini, in the sign of the messenger could be the brilliant point at which many of us recognize the ‘message’ that I am that and whereupon even that I am that becomes a complete redundancy. Gemini has curiosity. The curious often forgo the fear in their pursuit of the mystery of what lies around the corner or just on the other side of——-. There is a playful, innocence about this inquisitiveness that means the space for a new understanding. As Gemini relates to the third house and our experience on this planet, the brilliance that arises out of the darkness will have profound effect upon our way of being here.

Mercury, the ruler of Gemini is in Taurus a sign that processes through the senses rather than through intellectual analysis. Mercury slows down and is tactile. There is the potential for observation without thought and this contributes to a heightened awareness of the experience here. Conjuncting Jupiter emphasizes the value of this kind of processing and creates a broader sense of security based upon a new sense of self worth. It has nothing to do with who or what I am physically but everything to do with what cannot be described verbally through physicality. Saturn inconjunct these two requires one to delve beyond the wrapping for the gift and even then the obvious would be to assume that the gift is in the box. It is in the empty box that the gift is. Saturn at a150 degree angle to the Messenger implies the need to consider wisely how we apply ourselves to the uses of the mind—“Don’t let old patterns and beliefs determine how you will react in future, if indeed you react at all.”

Saturn is also in exact trine to Venus, both are retrograde. Suddenly Venus in Gemini which would normally be considered fickle, fractious and unreliable takes on a new meaning. This provides the framework for this passage from May 20th until June 5th when Venus crosses the Sun. What is our conscious intention? To slow down and focus on how our desire nature has provided us with a somewhat superficial experience of here—not that it is not okay. It is perfect! However, many people have glimpsed a different reality and choose that, now. In the beginning it does take focus and discipline–gathering momentum. All one needs is a glimpse—it’s enough to carry one many miles so to speak, in reality we travel nowhere.

I really must mention the 9th harmonic chart again and its relation to evolutionary intent and our potential to be of service. The Sun/Moon are at 3 degrees Libra in exact inconjunct to Saturn in Taurus—consider the physical self in perfect balance and harmony and worthy of great abundance and projecting that essence outward (could not do otherwise here) as Mercury in Cancer conjuncts Neptune and trines Pluto. Again Mercury in a sign that promotes feeling rather than analysis and along with Neptune determines to express unconditional love and caring in a way that brings transformation to the masses, Pluto is in Pisces. And Jupiter in Leo, big compassion and sharing from the heart, squares the north and south node. How to get from a place of unexpressed emotional depth to a place of profound “being” in life? Through sharing from the heart. It always seems so perfectly designed. All we have to do is look at the road map once in a while if we have momentary doubt. Everything we truly believe is right in front of my nose.

Not to neglect Uranus and it’s trine to the Sun/Moon. A flash of brilliance to assist the mind in accelerating beyond its attachments to the mundane influences that perpetuate our experiences. Mars in Aries in opposition to the Sun/Moon? A little rocket fuel to boost our enthusiasm for functioning at maximum within the structures of duality from a non-dual perspective. And Venus at 0 degrees Taurus also inconjunct the Sun/Moon and conjunct Saturn is well grounded in physical form and beyond the usual insecurities produced by this combination to know thyself as ‘not this, or that’ but what is left when
We have nothing else with which to identify. Here out of all the crayons in the box, Venus is white.

Back to the natal chart. Pluto/Mars trine in earth. We continue to refine our experience here in a way that has a permanent effect on our motivations and actions. What happens in Greece will be a defining moment for humanity.

Finally the Sabian symbol for this New Moon at 1 degree Gemini (you always round up) is “a glass-bottomed boat reveals undersea wonders”. It goes without saying, we are scheduled for an enlightening experience. From the depths of the darkest crack to the shadow of the noon day Sun we will receive the message and bravely share that message with all. Uranus trine Pluto–change is and for that we choose to be grateful.

What carries us from our superficial experiences of gathering to the profounder truth of our true essence? Neptune in Pisces square the north/south nodes—the knowing of the self as that which is not limited and has no boundaries. It doesn’t ask for more, better or different but simply is in peace and stillness.

N.B: 0 degrees Gemini conjuncts the Pleiades, a cluster of stars that is well known to us for many centuries within the constellation Taurus. It can be seen with the naked eye and has guided many a traveler on land and sea. This astronomical event, according to the only references I have found, a Sun/Moon conjunction with this cluster (the Pleiades) has not occurred for 26,000 years. The Earth’s axis completes one full cycle of precession approximately every 26,000 years. If this information is accurate and this is the end of a cycle then this is a truly auspicious time, though what that means exactly seems to be an unknown. At one level it may appear that nothing changes. Night falls and the morning dawns. On a deeper level, the patterns that we have woven over this period of our history may be progressed to a different level of creation. Physically speaking the Earth’s axis has been altered (even if a small amount, a few inches) due to the last major earthquakes, enough that it will be creating new patterns as it weaves its way through time and space.
