Significant Planetary Aspects for:

Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
Friday | Saturday | Sunday

The weekend brought progress of a profound nature, and we’re not through yet. Debris is clearing out of our paths as Mars and Pluto move into an exact trine Monday evening EDT. Ego-based will and divine will are working in harmony, intensifying and refining our ambitions, emboldening us to take courageous action and cutting away situations, beliefs and fears that are no longer sustainable. Metaphoric weeding is taking place on a grand scale, and our lives will be healthier and stronger as a result. If you said goodbye to anyone or anything, say a brief blessing at most and focus on what is still in your life. What remains has room to grow and thrive.

This fire-sign trine can operate like Popeye’s can of spinach, providing the momentary bravado and burst of energy to pull something off we ordinarily could not. Under it, a weakling could summon the superhuman strength to lift a car to free someone trapped beneath it, or a scaredy cat could willingly, even enthusiastically strap herself into a demonic roller coaster. (Well, maybe not in my case!) Take care: Once the momentum starts, the power these two planets generate can snowball quickly. If you find yourself reaching for a metaphoric weapon, start with a lower caliber than you think you’ll need. Tiny actions carry great power and weight now; ask that your deeds be guided by the highest good of all concerned. Impersonating The Terminator might be thrilling in the moment, but it would wreck havoc upon your energy system, not to mention karma. (And if you see someone else channeling him, by all means, get out of the way!)

After the trine culminates, Mars moves from flamboyant Leo into painstaking Virgo, where Saturn has been broadcasting his message of personal responsibility since the beginning of September. The planet of our drive and ambition will conjoin Saturn next week. As he approaches their meeting, motivation will increase to take action for our own personal health and well-being. This is also, no cosmic coincidence, the message of this week’s New Moon.

What spells comfort to you? Watch what you gravitate toward as the week progresses, and you’ll have your answer. Wednesday’s New Moon in Cancer will draw us instinctively to our preferred sources of comfort and security, and food will be high on everyone’s list. Don’t fight the impulse; embrace it. Treating yourself – and your inner child – to your personal definition of comfort food is an appropriate and healthy way to honor the energies of this Moon. She’s in the presence of Venus, goddess of love and values, Ceres, goddess of grain and maternal love, and Jupiter, whose magnanimity goes for over-the-top gestures. So go ahead; indulge. You will actually feel better for doing it. While you’re lingering over dessert, think about what you would like to nurture during this Moon cycle. Put a project or two of your own on the list, and be sure to include yourself as well. Ideally, you should be at the top of the list, so just do it. For a detailed discussion of how to make the most of the energy, read my New Moon article. It will be available to all visitors on Wednesday and Thursday and in the Moonlight Ezine all month for Cosmic Path subscribers.

Mercury, the planet of communication, clears his retrograde shadow on Friday. As he moves beyond the degrees he’s traveled since May 26, mysteries, frustrations and delays from that time will begin to clear. People who have been elusive are likely to reappear and make contact. Stalled projects can reignite. Missing information and papers may surface, and so may details that explain or make sense of occurrences during the retrograde.

The first wave of revelations and developments this time around could be very surprising and possibly even shocking. The day after clearing the shadow, Mercury slams into Uranus, the cosmic awakener. The collision will unleash bolts from out the blue, which light our field of vision so brightly that we will never view the situation the same way again. Illumination, insight, enlightenment, rupture – all are possible as the week draws to a close. If something has you feeling stumped or stuck, ask to be shown another way to look at it, then wait for Mercury and Uranus to answer your call.

Monday: The day’s aspects are motivating and action-oriented, ideal for working things out, working things through or just plain working. Big developments peak when the Mars/Pluto trine becomes exact around 6:51 PM EDT. Look at whatever transpires as a thrill ride, or an action movie, or the implosion of a creaky old building that was already in danger of collapsing.

Tuesday: Opportunities abound to process and talk about yesterday’s goings-on and more. Shifting a perspective is possible – and maybe necessary – when Mercury makes an adjustment aspect to Jupiter around 8:15 AM EDT. The Moon/Mercury conjunction almost 90 minutes later both inspires and requires speaking from the heart. The urge to communicate, and precisely and that, continues when Mars enters the Mercury-ruled sign of Virgo shortly after noon. Be prepared for schedule changes when the Moon squares Uranus at 4:12 PM EDT. It may be best to shut down for the day and unwind. The Moon/Neptune trine around 6:13 PM EDT unleashes a flow of guidance from Spirit or guidance from spirits; your choice.

Wednesday: While the Western Hemisphere is sleeping, the Moon enters Cancer and sextiles Mars, stirring dreams of nurturing actions and possibilities. The Moon/Saturn sextile around 11:20 AM EDT provides an emotionally satisfying opportunity to fulfill a commitment or responsibility. Be mindful of the impulse to take refuge in something as the New Moon moves into place (exact at 10:20 PM EDT). The challenge comes from agitation between the Moon and Neptune around 6 PM, which could prompt overindulgence in comfort food and drink.

Thursday: The Venus/Jupiter opposition peaks early in the night EDT. Make a note of the people in your dreams and what you find yourself craving when you awake. Both are candidates for your New Moon list of what you want to nurture (and no, it’s not to late to add them). The Moon has a busy, busy day, carrying the energy of the New Moon to every planet but Pluto and reminding us in myriad ways of our emotional roots in home and family. Expect many pleasing and valuable social interactions throughout the day as she meets Venus twice, by conjunction mid-morning and by declination around 9:18 PM EDT. The themes of yesterday’s New Moon replay when the Moon and Sun meet again by declination around 10:11 PM EDT. If you haven’t written down a list of New Moon intentions yet, do it tonight.

Friday: The weekend won’t come soon enough. Less than comfortable aspects motivate everyone to clear the decks as quickly as possibly. Mercury moves out of his retrograde shadow while in a square to the degree of the February 20 lunar eclipse. Information may surface now that sheds new light on events during the retrograde cycle or around the eclipse.

Saturday: The aspects promise little R&R, either during the night or the day. Dreams could be on the obsessive side and definitely intense. Watch what’s running through your mind as you wake up; the dream remnants contain clues of your deepest feelings, as well as situations you want to address. Whether you’re awake or asleep, the Mercury/Uranus square around 7:07 AM EDT will download perspectives, insights and information that break with previous perceptions. Gravitating to sources of comfort (people and food) is the theme of the day. The Moon/Mercury sextile at 7:20 PM opens the door to deep, rewarding communication, while the Moon/Neptune opposition an hour later encourages escapism and early bedtimes. If there’s a problem you want to solve, ask for a solution just before you fall asleep.

Sunday: If you asked for dream advice last night, just you wait. The night is likely to be restless, with plans and obligations running like background programs in our sleeping minds, and culminating in Mars and Uranus agitating each other around 6:35 AM EDT. If you resist the impulse to jump out of bed, a Mercury/Neptune trine a few minutes later will bring informative dreams and also deliver divine or creative inspiration directly to you. Restrain your inner four-year-old during the morning, or weather the consequences; the safer time to act with abandon is when Venus trines Uranus at 2:32 PM EDT. The fun gets a break when unavoidable responsibilities rear their head just before 4 PM. .The day rides out on a minor aspect between the Moon and Venus, which inclines the mood again toward comfort and nurturing.
