By the time we get going on Monday, the Full Moon at 19 Pisces will have peaked. Check out Anna Chapman’s amazing Harvest Full Moon report because it is a multi-layered event, all about unconscious fears and the limitless field of possibility. It’s kind of bizarre and amazing that this particular Moon, the Pisces Full Moon, follows so quickly on the heels of 9/11 and the commemorative events about it. I want to bring up Eckhart Tolle’s term “pain-body” because it speaks so clearly to this moment. In Cosmic Astrology, the pain-body is synonymous with the lower four body system, or the subtle energy bodies: the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical bodies; in short, our 3D selves. When you think about human suffering it happens in the mind through repetitive negative thoughts and memories; through emotions when we block the energy moving through us and hold on to or resist the flow of what we feel; through our bodies when we have a physical ailment that causes discomfort and pain. Spiritual suffering is harder to define, but it’s definitely a crisis of conscience. Pain-body sums it all up, doesn’t it?
What I love about looking at ourselves as multidimensional beings with energy fields and a “pain-body” is that it serves to elevate our awareness into the observer perspective where we can then breathe room into the space around that which causes us pain. It’s here that we can see beyond the abysmal situations that occurred that tainted the quality of our lives. It’s from the observer vantage point where we see and feel that we are not just a pain-body, but so much more. It’s only from this place, and after a thorough healing process, that we can even begin to conceive of the meaning of the teaching “forgiveness is good, but forgetting is better.” We must face and embrace the pain before it will dissolve.
For people who have lived through extreme situations, whether it is an event like 9/11, war, famine or some other horror, suffering is particularly domineering. In Cosmic Astrology we would say the soul came in specifically to experience this kind of intensity, likely to burn through a lot of karma in a concentrated amount of time and to accelerate consciousness in whatever way is for the soul’s highest good. To actually hear stories from people who’ve survived something dramatic can instantly open the heart – which is the whole point. It’s a tremendous act of “service” the survivor can offer to humanity by sharing their story particularly if they have done a lot of healing around the experience. But it also can trigger our own pain-body, especially in the way the media spins and distorts it. The media triggers everyone’s pain-body and we hear the collective negative mind say things like “Forget? But how could we? Why would we? It’s not proper. It’s not what we are taught to do. We are taught to never forget, always remember we are sinful, that we are bound to our genetic makeup, and of course, owe everything that is good to the sacrifices and hardships of our forbearers.” The media is acting as a huge mirror for all of us with ears to hear the spinning of the ego in its plight to hold on and perpetuate our personal pain, familial pain, racial pain, global pain (etc) in the false guise of moral goodness.
None of it really makes sense, and I’d wager to say we have been a bit confused about what compassion is in general, but what I do know is that there are lots of ways to open the heart. Pain and suffering are part of the human deal, but it’s wise to visit the pain long enough to get its message and then move on. We are here to experience pain and pleasure and recognize it all as valid and purposeful, but ultimately we’re just supposed to open the heart and strive to keep it open no matter the circumstance. This is very different than nursing a wound. Done are the days of shutting the heart as an act of protection. A closed heart serves no one, least yourself. The Virgo/Pisces polarity is so much about healing and unconditional love. We’ve been through a rapid metamorphosis since the new Moon so that we now have a whole new capacity for openness.
Venus wraps up her sojourn through Virgo and moves into Libra on Wednesday. Venus is associated with the way we love and relate; it is the females in our life, and what or how we value things. From the perspective of Cosmic Astrology, Venus is the emotional body. So our emotional body was cleansed and recalibrated as Venus moved through Virgo. Now we are ready to balance. Libra is where we learn to move out of duality and into polarity by way of relationship and cultivating the higher awareness that what we perceive is really a reflection in some way. It’s not always literal or personal, but this is where we realize how our environment is always speaking to us revealing more and more about ourselves and the collective. For example, when I was hiking out of the Catskills as I described last week, it became so clear to me that all the folks we encountered along the way who said over and over again “there is no way out” were the voice of the negative mind (personal and collective). Luckily, I’ve been working so diligently on listening to and obeying my heart, that the voice of my heart (or my intuition) was so much louder and it was a force moving me along even though I had no plan or idea of what the next step would be along the way. When we start seeing the reflection in this way, the negative mind has WAY less of an influence on us.
By the end of the week Pluto stations direct at 4 Capricorn and Mars moves into Leo. It’s intense, but Pluto’s teachings will reveal themselves as he gains speed over the next few weeks and Mars, while he is still in Cancer he is serving to help us understand the flow of masculine and feminine energies within us. Are you getting clearer about the current that runs through you that moves you from doing to being and vice versa throughout the day? These are amazing days.
The Full Moon occurs at 5:27am EDT and will dominate the day. Overall it’s a feel-good kind of day, although we may feel the vastness of Pisces and Neptune, which can send us out into space and make it difficult to tend to everyday details. As they say, go with the flow and trust that it will take you to exactly where you need to be. The Moon goes void of course at 9:46p for the rest of the evening. Take time to feel the bliss that is available.
The Moon moved into Aries in the wee hours of the night, changing the vibration of our mood very much from the amorphous Pisces feeling to the quick and fiery pulse of Aries. The Moon connects with Uranus and Pluto during the day, both of which open us up to bigger and brighter things, but not without some initial discomfort or unrest. It is what it is and just trust that larger forces are at work.
The Moon continues to move through Aries and an opposition to Saturn may give you a challenging look in the mirror. But Mercury trines Jupiter in the late evening our outlook brightens, expands and the look in the mirror pays off. Venus enters her home turf, Libra, too and our emotional life takes on a whole new tone. Take note of what happens this evening, because it will likely define the next few weeks as Venus in Libra helps us realize ourselves through the mirrored self.
The Moon is in Aries for half the day, goes void for 2 hours in the afternoon, and then moves into Taurus. The Moon void will be a powerful time to move into your compassion center, your heart. Compassion arises spontaneously. An open heart will make you available to the experience. The Moon in Taurus may bring up a longing for pleasure. It’s what we are here to experience, too.
The Moon is in Taurus all day and Pluto stations to turn direct from a many month long retrograde cycle. This is a collective force at work. On a personal level Pluto takes us to our depths where we wallow a bit until we realize we don’t have to wallow anymore, at which point we start moving out of the muck. The bigger picture will emerge as Pluto starts to move forward. Venus parallels Uranus in the evening and we will be liberated in some way. Excitement from this release will be palpable.
The day is dominated by Venus opposing Uranus, similar to yesterday’s parallel in that it’s Venus and Uranus connecting. Our relationships are being shaken. Freedom is the motivation. Remember the mirror. The golden cage you are in was created by you and you have the key. The “other” is only there to remind you of your sovereignty.
The Moon moves into Gemini early in the morning, and the emotional body lessons continue with Venus squaring Pluto. This is deep because Pluto is so still having just turned direct. We are breaking habits of control and manipulation. Remember the mirror. How is the part of you that wants freedom pushing you so that you will listen to it? This too shall pass, but take a long hard look.
