Weekly Weather Report

by Stephanie Azaria

Significant Planetary Aspects for:

Mercury goes direct on Tuesday and gets quite the workout over the course of the week as he contacts the Sun, Mars and most of the outer planets. Messages, information and feedback about mastery, care-taking and protection of our well-being are on tap almost daily. The info will push some delayed or stuck matters forward, but will also hearken back to the recent past. The planet that rules communication, transportation and siblings is beginning another pass over the territory he covered from the middle of August until his retrograde began September 6. Watch for additional details about matters that transpired then. Some of what stirs will date further back, though. Mercury is stationing and turning direct at 21 Virgo, the very degree where Saturn spent most of last December and January as he launched his own four and a half month retrograde. Expect feedback about how well you have learned since then to take care of — and mind — your own business.

The first wave will be eye-opening, as Mercury stares Uranus down by declination on Monday. Accept any startling news; it will lead in a helpful direction, even if your ego isn’t thrilled with the immediate message. The second wave, building into Tuesday, brings certainty and solidifying, if only in your thinking. Watch for opportunities to put an idea into action on Thursday and Sunday (yes, twice), when Mercury sextiles Mars. More insight and revisions in thinking comes Sunday, when Mercury opposes Uranus. Be on the lookout for a mental crossroads around the same time. One direction is the path of compassion, higher consciousness or Love and is yours for the asking. And asking for guidance may well be prudent. The choice may not be obvious, since Neptune is involved and could be clouding the nature of what’s at stake.

All this information is imminently useful if you will take the time to shift through it. Each detail, however small or insignificant it looks, sheds light on how well you have been doing your Saturn in Virgo work: how well you have been tending to your own garden, shoring up your boundaries and intactness, committing to your own well-being, and giving up any lingering sense of responsibility for other people’s business. We have just a few more weeks to master these tasks before Saturn moves into Libra and shifts his focus to lessons in relationship dynamics. Focus on yourself now, in a healthy way, so that you enter the Libra relationship lessons in as intact and internally healthy a mode as possible.

The big action of the week is weighted at the end. Unlike last week, when we got a string of quiet days extending into an equally quiet weekend, this one leads into an action-packed Sunday. With the Aries Full Moon four hours or so before dawn EDT, relationship issues will begin building up the day before. The recent emphasis on intactness of and focus on the self is giving way to awareness of what’s going on with the people in our lives — and what effect our actions are having on them. This is a foretaste of what we will be dealing with as Saturn moves through Libra, which is the sign the Sun is occupying now.

You may learn that someone close to you feels neglected by your pursuit of your own interests. You may feel that someone close isn’t reciprocating your emotions or keeping up his or her end of your bargain. Even if no complaints or perceived transgressions come to light, relationship dynamics are definitely up for discussion, spelling out and negotiation. New and improved versions are possible, as a result of whatever surfaces. The rulers of the Sun and Moon, Venus and Mars, are both in contact with Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune and Uranus. The cosmic lovers are at a crossroads, from different directions, with the Aquarian planets. Our perspective is much, much broader under this Moon, and the big-picture, higher-purpose ramifications of various choices stretch out before us. With the Uranian links, we’re motivated to try new approaches and do things differently. The relationships that are most important — and that allow us to be ourselves, fully — have room for personal independence.

One aspect of this Full Moon backs into a lesson of the past two years. The Moon in Aries is the ultimate free agent, but it also has a bent for rushing into burning buildings to rescue people in distress. See what rouses your passions now, and check your motives if you are inspired to rush to someone’s aid — particularly if it puts you at risk. The threshold question is whether the person wants or is asking for your help. If the answer is no, Saturn in Virgo says to leave the matter alone. For more on the Full Moon, read my report on the site.

As we sail out of the weekend, Uranus makes a growth aspect to Neptune. They have been getting along just fine all year and longer. The two planets are in mutual reception (in each other’s homes), a relationship that makes their energies blend and vibrate together. With this semi-sextile, insight evolves into enlightenment; personal liberation matures into compassion for all. This is the second time that Uranus and Neptune have contacted this way this year. The first occurred on June 9, as Venus and Mars were traveling tightly together and approaching their conjunction in worldly Taurus less than a week later. It’s no coincidence that the bodies ruled by Venus and Mars are now opposed as Uranus and Neptune make their second semi-sextile. We’re at a measuring point. How much have you, your heart and your relationships grown since June? We’ll have another measuring point when Uranus and Neptune meet one final time in this way next March.

Monday: The day has very few aspects. Monitor your mental impulses as late afternoon rolls around. Communication can take unforeseen turns. Decide that yours will take you to clearer perspectives, not to harsh exchanges of words.

Tuesday: Mercury goes direct a little after 9 AM EDT and begins his final pass for this year through Virgo, where Saturn has bivouacked for the past two years. An hour before the cosmic messenger moves forward, he meets by declination with Saturn. Thoughts gravitate to serious matters the day starts. The natural flow of your thinking will show you what you’re committed to. This influence is a beneficial time to reaffirm goals and make major decisions.

Wednesday: Go with the flow. This is a day to simply be and float and dream and not initiate anything, especially not anything major. You do have the freedom, of course, to press ahead on an agenda and rant when you can’t get ahold of people you need to talk to, but you’re only going to waste energy if you do. Little or nothing will come of your effort. The Moon is void of course for almost the entire waking day, for about 12 hours starting around 7:30 AM EDT. She joins Neptune before going void, which will make the day dreamy and other-worldly. Experiment with watching your life as if a movie were unfolding before you. The Sun meets Uranus by declination midway through. If you’re quiet, amazing insight about yourself and your live can drop into your head. Be open to it.

Thursday: Your dreams teem with clues about implementing recent decisions and goals. If you had a restless night, the excitement to get moving on them was a factor in disrupting your sleep. The waking day has no major aspects until a late night Moon/Venus opposition. Until then, the minor and declination aspects are edgy and jittery. Treat everything as a reflection of your own inner process and don’t blame anyone.

Friday: Pay attention to what’s on your mind as you awaken. The dream world and our subconscious return overnight to the recent shake-ups from the Saturn/Uranus opposition, as the two planets stare each other down by declination. You may be processing or working out developments that peaked around September 15, or you may be homing in on further changes that you desire on an inner level. Relationships are definitely an issue in this, as is also how much you have allowed yourself to communicate. There’s more to be said, and your psyche wants you to speak up. Conscious impulses — or outright invitations — push you in this direction by mid-afternoon.

Saturday: While most of us are sleeping, the Moon enters the impulsive, self-activating turf of Aries, revving up for tomorrow’s big event, and quickly slams into Pluto. Let any forceful, argumentative impulses fade with your dream memories before your start speaking up. A contact to Jupiter makes the morning soft and jolly, but the atmosphere could become fractious as the afternoon wears on — if you let it. There’s always a choice. Remember that the tension of the Full Moon is ramping up this evening. Instead of locking horns with the people close to you, engage in quiet contemplation, music making, reading or watching TV or a movie. And put pencil and paper at your bedside.

Sunday: The Moon becomes Full in Aries a couple of hours after midnight EDT. Collect your dream fragments and write them down before you get out of bed. Your heart is sending you messages about balance, fairness and reciprocity in at least one close relationship. Everyone should have room to be themselves, and if you’re feeling constrained or roped in, there’s an issue to look at and then negotiate. Seven powerful aspects punctuate the day, from morning until late night, and the outer planets are involved in all but one. One gives the opportunity to put your words into action. The others call upon you to accept and use insight, wisdom, self-mastery and enlightenment. Guidance is always at hand, from your own intuition, from your higher self and from beings, entities and intelligence greater than your conscious mind. Ask for it and accept it.
