We are in the throes of transformation. All the pressure that was building last week, the breakdowns that occurred, the revelations you received, all of these developments funnel directly into the aspect that launches the next phase of the journey. The week starts with the New Moon in Scorpio, which is reverberating with Sunday’s game-changing square between its ruler Pluto and Saturn. We get to move forward on change and put our own personal stamp on the direction in which it’s heading.
Everything is up for reconsideration, restructuring, renegotiation or rejection. Relationships are evolving or dying. Systems are falling apart and rarely all of a sudden; in many instances, they’ve been already cratered and evidence of their failure is coming to light. The news has been disturbingly full of psychological problems roaring to the surface, in violent and deadly fashion. Even if your life has been relatively calm, you have been seeing deep inner developments precipitating a reshaping of your outer world. Now, with the New Moon, the reshaping zeroes in all types of exchanges (monetary, emotional, sexual, energetic). It opens the door to a new phase in how we handle debt, credit, investments, taxes, joint accounts and ventures and emotional and physical intimacy. Terrors, cravings and death are in the mix, too.
Don’t worry about needing to have the final answer before walking into the next phase. There is no such thing as a final answer just now. Much remains to be revealed and reworked, when Saturn and Pluto square each other again at the end of January and late in August next year. For now, acknowledge the areas that are in metamorphosis and set intentions of what you would like to create and experience. Monday afternoon affords time for sitting with these concepts. The Moon goes void of course immediately following her conjunction with the Sun, from 2:15 PM EST for the rest of the day, up through and just past midnight. The Moon’s last contact before a void always colors the experience. In this instance, kicking off from the Sun, the void suspends us in our own definitions of our selves. When rectifying the imbalances that the Saturn/Pluto square is bringing to light, we really are to look first at how we are faring in any exchange. For more on the New Moon, read my report on the site.
More galvanizing on issues of reciprocity happens on Tuesday, when Mars crosses the degree of the August 5 Leo lunar eclipse. That eclipse drew attention to love given and received and highlighted to what extent our talents and self-expression are receiving appreciation and acknowledgement. We are each of us acutely aware now of what we value most, especially about ourselves. There is no longer any time or inclination to throw your precious talents in front of audiences that can’t see or properly value them. It’s time to get moving on realizations and decisions from August. If we’re still in situations with shortfalls in appreciation or attention, motivation will erupt now to do something about them. The process fits in naturally with the New Moon. When you’re contemplating your life Monday afternoon, notice what situations keep coming up again and again. Don’t be surprised if you take action on them when Tuesday rolls around.
The week’s processing begins to lighten up when the Sun moves from Scorpio, the turf of Pluto and the New Moon, into Sagittarius on Saturday. This is the domain of Jupiter, who is catching up with his current traveling companions, Chiron and Neptune, and speeding toward reunions with each of them in December. The Sun’s move into Sagittarius is the atmospheric starting gate for the holidays, encouraging optimism, good will, generous-heartedness and a desire to make merry and indulge. Because of the company Jupiter is keeping, this year the shift brings an air of magic and higher forces at work, the feeling that life truly is good after now, despite all we’ve been through this year, and that all things are possible.
That last part also involves how we spend and plan our time during the Sun’s time in Sagittarius. Jupiter’s link to Uranus is unlocking us from traditions and letting fresh air and ideas blow in. Every disruption of holiday traditions frees you to choose and do something instead that you’ll embrace and enjoy. In many instances, the disruptions are coming from someone following his heart. Take that person’s action as an invitation to do the same. (In my own family, for example, the status quo of the past decade or so has gone out the window because the youngest member of the usual gathering, who is still a minor, has decided to return to a country where her life blossomed into joy and meaning during a program last summer.) The benefits go beyond plans for parties and holiday gatherings. Allow your heart to open to compassion and wisdom, and let those qualities color the filter through which you view the world. As the Aquarian triple conjunction revs up for its final approach, we’re in for another spell of reminders that we can and do experience heaven on earth. Begin opening to them now.
Monday: If there’s something you feel is important to launch today, set it in motion in the morning. Insights and inspiration are for the having, but once the Moon meets the Sun at 2:15 PM EST and goes void of course, you may as well put your feet up on the desk, lean back in your chair and stare out the window. As the day lazes on, staring and daydreaming are not going to be pointless. Creative projects with transcendent grace will be conceived today, while social interactions resonate with the mingling of worldly and higher love. Keep those higher forces in mind — in your heart, actually — as you contemplate the phase you are entering in restructuring your relationship exchanges (which is the theme of today’s New Moon). Discussions of ongoing matters can cut to the chase and make strides toward resolution, but save new topics for another day.
Tuesday: More on those ongoing discussions: Dreams work out responsible solutions (at least, responsible for your end) and inspire you to share them, so pay attention to what’s on your mind as you awaken. Even though there are no aspects whatsoever once the sun rises in the Western Hemisphere, today is the antithesis to yesterday’s gentle floating. Motivation kicks in to push your own agenda forward. The top items on that list involve putting yourself before an audience that gets you and giving up performing in front of one that does not.
Wednesday: The skies continue to be relatively quiet, but being still and reclusive would waste an opportunity. Heart expansion rules the day, with the only daylight aspect being a door-opening sextile between the Moon and Jupiter. As goodwill and optimism fill you, reach out to others and share the feeling. It’s a balm with the power to soothe many a situation in transition (and make the rare stable ones all the more rewarding).
Thursday: The overnight hours are certainly not designed for deep, restful sleep. Venus and Mars have a shoving match overnight and send our psyches screaming, at a minimum, for action on our desires. Dreams could well point out and play out a development that you want badly. The morning is not the optimal time to push for it, though; you’re not likely to have integrated it enough to convey it without counterproductive nervousness. You won’t have to wait long. By afternoon, your heart sides with passion and desire and propels you to kick down confining structures and rules.
Friday: Pause the kicking for now and tread lightly. Gentle, easy approaches will make greater progress today. Tend to your relationships as if they are a garden; make a point to contact people who are dear to you. (As Samuel Johnson counsels, “A man, sir, should keep his friendship in a constant repair.”) The results will be pleasing, if not immediately, as evening rolls around.
Saturday: As Venus reaches the midpoint between Saturn and Pluto, attention turns to what you value about yourself and others. Relationships are the likely focus, and you’ll look at them in the light of the transition energy that the waning Saturn/Pluto square is continuing to emit. Your key relationships are undergoing metamorphosis, never to return to their previous state. What’s your stance on this process? What do you need? What does your heart want? What changes are necessary to satisfy you? You can see, perhaps even force, some measurable progress today, at least in terms of your ability to allow yourself to ask for and have what you want. Confrontations are not inevitable, nor do the ones that occur have to be unpleasant. Proceed from the position of loving yourself and you will find love and compassion for, and probably from, the other person as well. The mood will be lighter tomorrow. after the Sun enters Sagittarius late, late tonight.
Sunday: Relationship issues play out in dreams overnight, which cycle through scenarios of power, responsibility, authority and unexpressed resentment, frustration or aggression. Hold back on acting on any dream impulses, especially early afternoon, when the unexpected grabs the helm. The daytime hours have no major aspects, but the Moon’s links to Venus and Mercury late afternoon and early evening bode well for hearts warming into loving interactions.
