We are reaping a harvest that has been in the making for some nine months. Since May, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune have been traveling together in the late degrees of Aquarius, and in a growth aspect to Uranus. Their journey has linked our spiritual and earthly existences, expanded our concepts of what is possible in our lives, and brought us optimism and wisdom, healing and mastery, enlightenment and unconditional love. The aspects have tightened, then loosened twice, and are now in the process of tightening for one final round. One last meeting remains for the year, the third and final conjunction between Jupiter and Neptune, which takes place on the 21st. This week, in the final pre-conjunction festivities, we have the opportunity to assimilate the triple conjunction’s energies into our selves and our relationships.
As Jupiter and Neptune glide into the final phase of their dance, the Sun and Venus contact all of the ascension planets over the course of the week. On Monday and Tuesday, the Sun sextiles Chiron, Jupiter and Neptune and squares Uranus. On Saturday and Sunday, Venus follows suit. The first round is all about getting over ourselves. It invites us again to put the pain of those long-standing wounds far behind us and embrace the strengths that they have prompted us to develop. It opens the door to gaining a higher perspective on our lives, seeing the big and beneficial picture and viewing ourselves with love, compassion and acceptance. And this first round cracks open our limited perspective once again with lightning bolts of inspiration and insight. Some of the bolts may cause disruption in the outer world as well, but that’s part of the process. We’re still being shaken loose and freed from situations that hold us back from our growth potential.
We’ve already come so far this year. Take the time to look back over the past few months and give yourself credit for all the growth and expansion you have undergone. Don’t you feel as if you’ve evolved decades in a span of time that’s really only weeks? Acknowledge the growth spurt. If you hear a little voice piping up that there’s still so much more you could or should do, stifle it. The days of being hard on yourself are over. The skies are saying, in a nutshell, give yourself slack. It’s okay to be human. In fact, it’s glorious to be human, because we get to experience creation simultaneously as spirit and as physicality now. Open yourself to anything that comes on offer, even if it’s not quite in the package you were expecting — or is something you hadn’t considered before. And if something that you’ve been asking, dreaming and praying for lands in your path, do not run from it or question it or tell it to wait because you’re not quite ready. The opportunity may not come around again. Embrace it.
One more aspect of this dance is worth bearing in mind. This dance is not merely a stage of individual evolution. It marks it for our society as well. The North Node of destiny is in growth aspect to the Aquarian planets and opportunity aspect to Uranus. The collective is opening to the healing inherent in Chiron, to the expansive properties of Jupiter, and to the enlightening and compassionate qualities of Neptune. Uranus is breaking apart the patterns of the collective and opening it to individuals who are living from the heart and spirit. In effect, the growth of the collective depends on us as individuals moving into the more expanded and liberated way of being that the traveling party is encouraging.
Before we get to the second round of this process, two events form a bridge to it, both involving Venus. The first is the New Moon in Sagittarius on Wednesday, which is conjunct Venus, sextile to the Aquarian triple conjunction and squaring Uranus. The New Moon marks a new phase in our understanding of our world. Our outlook on life directly molds our experience of life; Venus in the mix is a reminder that love and money are subject to this as well. The Sagittarian New Moon invites us to take the information and messages we received under the Gemini Full Moon two weeks ago and construct them into concepts, theories and philosophies. A Sagittarius New Moon always rekindles interest in expanding our minds and horizons. This one does so exponentially, since it is in a growth to the mushrooming influence of Jupiter and his traveling companions. This New Moon launches a stage of viewing the world and particularly relationships through healed eyes (and hearts), viewing all with optimism and wisdom and the enlightened perspective of higher love, and breaking free of the patterning and paradigms that have constrained us in the past. For more on the New Moon, read my report on the site.
The following day, on Thursday, Venus and Mars blend their energies in a trine that will light a fire in all of us. This is an exciting cap to a process that has been going on alongside the Aquarian traveling parties’ journey. The masculine and feminine archetypes have been recalibrating their relationship all year. Venus and Mars have merged twice, first in spirit, at the end of Pisces in April, and then here on the earth plane, in the middle of Taurus in June. Their meetings brought the feminine into alignment with the masculine within each of us, within relationships and within our society. Since then, Venus has run ahead, with Mars following closely behind, signaling that our hearts are leading us at this point. Now the lovers are joining forces in an enthusiastic, fiery burst.
This should make for a lively social atmosphere, at a minimum, not to mention lots of fun. When your heart spies a target, your drive will run right to it. This tag-team action will heat up creativity, romance and passions and send them soaring. Look for a boost in all your relationships, but the outlook is especially combustible for affairs of the heart. The good news isn’t fleeting, either. Because Mars is on the verge of stationing retrograde (which happens on Sunday), the flames that he and Venus are sending off are not likely to flare up and die away. He is going to restoke this fire as he crosses back over this point at Christmas and again in May of next year.
When Venus hits the ascension planets over the weekend, in the follow-up to the Sun’s journey at the first of the week, the process our egos underwent moves into the arena of relationships and financial exchanges. The offer is here to drop the relationship baggage that everyone has been carrying around (or at least loosen your grip on its handle!) It is really, truly possible to relate to another in time present, with each of you standing in your current identities, and not obliterate the other with projections of your opposite-sex parent or your ex or some other phantom who’s floating around in your subconscious. Venus’ weekend travels invite us to look at our companions and partners in the best possible light, to view them with love and compassion, and to welcome, accept and listen to the divine guidance we are receiving about our relationships. Some of that guidance involves opening up our perspective on relationships — viewing them differently, dropping existing definitions and agreements and freeing each side of the equation to be more fully themselves. We start by embracing what we now understand to be true about ourselves. The ego’s experiences at week’s start were not a passing exercise, but primed us for what Venus is now showing. It’s as if we have gone from existing in one tiny room to living in a grand and spacious house with lots of natural light and furnishings that match our personal taste for design and comfort. How we’re living has improved. Our value of ourselves has improved. What we want in relationships has become healthier and more attuned to our core natures. So all our energy exchanges, both from the heart and monetary, are going to shift, too, sooner or later. Opportunities for that come all weekend long.
It’s not a now-or-never-situation. Other chances will come around for betterment. Mars stations retrograde on Sunday and will stay at his current degree until New Year’s Eve. He will slowly revisit the territory he’s covered since the middle of October until he returns to the first degree of Leo in March. He’ll remain at that degree for most of that month and not come back to his current location (and the degree of this week’s passionate trine to Venus) until the middle of May. We’ll be backtracking over relationship issues as we also re-examine the personal issues that Mars will be reigniting in our charts, depending on the houses he is visiting. The fact that later opportunities may surface is no reason to put off anything that does develop now, though. Don’t move back into that dark single room just because it’s what you know. Stay in the larger and grander space. Explore it. Claim it. It belongs to you.
Monday: Don’t expect business as usual. Uranian bolts are raining down and calling us all to look at ourselves in a stark and true light. When the light flashes on, take a good long look at yourself. We are capable of so much more than we allow. See yourself as you would a stranger, then as you would a dear and special friend. That’s the person to have answer the door when opportunity comes knocking. The form or the source may not be what you have anticipated, but the offer speaks directly to your unique talents, abilities and, most of all, experience.
Tuesday: Having love and compassion for the self is one of the great challenges of this earthly existence (right up there with love and compassion for our fellow humans!) It’s a vital foundation for flourishing, though. No one can really and truly love another if he does not first love and honor himself. Today’s gift speaks to this fundamental need. The moment may be simple and unobtrusive. It may not catch your attention or announce itself with flashing lights or a bright shiny bow. An offer of grace, love and compassion is there for each of us all the same, whether we recognize it as such or not. Go into the day asking to welcome and receive it, and release any expectation to understand the instrument or moment of its arrival. By evening, notice your mindset. Watch for a brightened outlook, a sense of understanding and purpose, a sense that all’s right in your world. The skies are full of creative inspiration and enlightenment. Let them pour down onto you.
Wednesday: No pushing today, please. The New Moon occurs in Sagittarius bright and early and the Moon immediately goes void of course until nightfall (7:02 AM – 5:23 PM EST). Personal philosophies and outlooks on life are very much in the spotlight, with our social and financial relationships acting them out for us so we can see them better. Avoid any temptation to react today and definitely to blame. No one is at fault for anything that is happening now. (Or ever, in one way of looking at reality.) Think instead about what events reveal about your perspective, then think of how you could experience life in a healthier, happier, glass-half-full way. Refer to my New Moon report on the site for more pointers on working with this energy.
Thursday: Venus trines Mars as day breaks in the Western Hemisphere (7:32 AM EST) and the excitement of their harmonious collaboration colors the day. Our male and female sides are happily aligned, so plow forward on everything that expresses your heart and creativity and you will travel far. External pairings fall into happy and exuberant alignment as well. Team work soars. So do spirits, desires, flirting, romance, passions and love in all its various forms. Have a good time out there.
Friday: Yesterday’s luscious link to Venus is still hanging in the air, because Mars is not moving from his spot anytime soon. The lingering vibes continue to enliven the air and show us how energizing and fun relationships really can be. The second half of the day provides plenty of time for enjoyment and reverie. We have another long void of course Moon from mid-afternoon EST until just before dawn tomorrow. The Moon’s last contact before going void is an opportunity aspect to Uranus. Plans change on a moment’s notice. Change is good. In fact, it may be exactly what you need and just don’t know it yet. Accept unexpected invitations. Shift gears. Do something you haven’t before.
Saturday: Venus and Mars have lit a fire with transformative impact. Watch today for opportunities to heal your relationships (and, more importantly, your wounded or unhealthy attitudes and memories of them). As you open your heart, open your hand, too. No clutching anything, not a person, not a situation, not an expectation. This does not mean that good situations are destined to break or leave; far from it. Instead, drop the constraints and limitations on them. Stand next to your companions in a new way. Let fresh air and fresh ideas blow through your interactions.
Sunday: Note who and what relationship issues are at the forefront of your life. Mars is stationing retrograde today. As he slowly turns to travel from 19 to 0 Leo, he is drawing line after line of emphasis under our current involvements. Between now and March we will revisit and put renewed effort into what we have experienced since the middle of October. Between now and May, when he completes his eight months in Leo, he is drawing attention to our need for validation, appreciation and opportunities to shine. Messages and information arrive today that show us others’ point of view; opportunities also arise to improve and expand our relationships, our bank balances and our awareness of our own inherent worth. The heart’s in charge, remember. See how many sizes you can let it grow. If the Grinch could do it, so can you.
