In the charts right now there are 6 bodies or points at 23+ degrees: the Moon’s nodes, Jupiter, Haumea, Ixion, and Ceres. Flanking that degree on either side are Eris (22+ degrees) and Sedna(24+degrees). This means they are all connected, all working together. This, to me, is indicative of the amazing, life-changing year we have in store.
Jupiter is moving retrograde today, bringing the expansion of consciousness and truth-seeking within, and not so externally directed. Jupiter is moving towards a new cycle with the Soul Star Chakra (North Node), which will be exact on January 23rd. We are growing in evolutionary consciousness, which is indeed our soul purpose in this lifetime (Ixion), but we have to focus on it and work towards it, with Ixion providing a stepping stone (square). Jupiter’s bridge with the Earth Star Chakra (aka South Node) reminds us of how far we have come, and connects us to the Earth and our karma; it gives us grounding and perspective on our evolutionary journey towards Wholeness (Haumea). Ceres makes a manifestation (trine) to Haumea, assisting in the labor of this gradual coming together of our parts, towards Wholeness.
Eris is preparing to move forward, creating interior openings of unsettling awakenings; these will show us where we need to truly see and accept our Selves, where we need to make course corrections and changes. Here Ceres is assisting too, giving us the resources we need to walk across the Eris/Haumea bridge as we bring each part of ourselves that Eris reveals to us into alignment. We need to be ready to listen to Eris’ messages, and not fear them. We are being made ready for what is to come, we are meant for this; and with Jupiter’s help we will choose the expansive high road forward. Meanwhile, Sedna holds this all together for us, until our consciousness expands enough that we can access this ourselves. These are such amazing times!
Pluto’s stepping stone and Venus’ sextiling resource with Black Moon Lilith provide the key to our evolution: by honoring, loving and acting on our innate Divine Feminine Wisdom and Strength we will transform ourselves, and the world.

It’s amazing to me how these chaotic times reflect our inner Selves. Even though there is truly no separation between years except to change the calendar, and the energies of 2016 began in December 2015, or even the end of November, January seems to bring with it the opportunity for fresh new starts in the midst of endings. In my own personal life, one week into the month has brought 5 birthdays, including my spouse’s and my brother. It also brought news of 2 more departures from this plane of existence, so we’ve already been to one memorial service, where old friends we seldom see came together. Who are we becoming as we celebrate the comings and goings of our lives, and the new/old friends who come to call? I notice this especially in my husband’s life, and many old connections have returned; we’ve yet to know how brief or permanent. All those out there who’ve chosen to be born in early January are experiencing a total transformation with Pluto in Capricorn transiting your Sun. (Of course, some of you have already been through Pluto’s journey through early Capricorn….) What needs to be resurrected in your Self? Meanwhile the rest of us are undergoing a metamorphosis in other parts of our lives.
Today Mercury reenters Capricorn, getting ready to meet the Sun, and eventually Pluto, before he goes direct. Here’s where we get a chance to go within, examine our thoughts and take ownership and response ability for those thoughts, from which we create what we say, and how we act. Here’s where we can slow up enough to decide how to respond in thought, word and deed to what comes into our experience (which we created, after all). Our Divine Director, our Source, is right there to guide us, and if we are honest with ourselves, we have the ability to change our Selves and our perceptions one thought at a time. It is no coincidence that Saturn, Capricorn’s dispositer, and Venus are coming together in a new cycle today also, adding Love to our inner authority, reminding us that Love is what we came here for, and we are authorized, if you will, to love our Selves unconditionally with loving thoughts and words to ourselves, to change negativity (our own or others') into something positive. Happy Mercury retrograde!
By choosing your thoughts, and by selecting which emotional currents you will release and which you will reinforce, you determine the quality of your Light. You determine the effects that you will have upon others, and the nature of the experiences of your life. Gary Zukav

Today was such a powerhouse of a day, with so many astrological events occurring: a Mercury/Mars stepping stone, Mercury going retrograde, Venus making a stepping stone with Neptune (and also with Orcus in Virgo), and the Sun coming together with Pluto in Capricorn. Whew!
One of my new year’s resolutions is to make changes in my day-to-day routine (how about having one?) (isn’t that so Pluto in Capricorn?) so that I can take small steps towards manifesting my dreams. I have 3 things I love: astrology, writing, and music, and I want to do a little of each every day. So far it isn’t working; I usually have no time to practice guitar or write a song. If I do that, I have no time for writing. And so on. With today’s new cycle of the Sun/Pluto conjunction I hope to shed some light (Sun) on this situation and transform (Pluto) it by getting up a little earlier, using a timer when I’m doing tasks or on the computer, etc. I have to ask myself: What wants to be expressed today (Venus/Neptune)? Today it was astrological writing, tomorrow the answer might be different.
Another resolution is doing something physical every day. I’m pretty undisciplined mentally and physically, preferring to stay up late and sleep later. Along those lines I asked my Self: What does my body need (Mercury/Mars)? When my hip hurts, what is it saying? Well, last year I saw a course called 21-Day Yoga Body by Sadie Nardini. I made a note to enroll, but something always held me back: I didn’t want to spend the money, I would go to a physical yoga class (never did), I was too tired, busy, you name it. Then I thought, if I still want to do this by the end of the year, I’m gonna go for it. So here we are—I spent the money, and bought the class. It was harder than I thought, with poses that help the core around the stomach (my weakest point), Sun Breath and more. I’ve only done it for 4 days; already there is resistance in my mind. Yet, it is different this time; when doing a maneuver from Downward Dog to Plank and back, called a Wave (couldn’t do it at all, at first) I told my Self, very quietly, “you can do it.” That’s all. In this movie there is no “can’t”, just “do it” and move on. And I tried again. And again. It’s not perfect, but I did it. More important, I tried, and I have done the class every day so far, despite the resistance. And I’ll do it tomorrow too. That’s how transformation happens, a little at a time.
How do we talk to ourselves? How do we treat our bodies? Our higher Love for our Selves, and our new ways of thinking about ourselves propels us forward one step at a time, towards the transformations that we seek. In this way we attain mastery over our lower selves.

The Orcus/Neptune bridge (at 7+ degrees Virgo/Pisces) has been open since November, and will be with us for some time to come. If Orcus is our access to the invisible realm, where we connect with our Cosmic Selves, walking the bridge to Neptune and back is where the veils lift, showing us where we come from and where we belong. We need to be pure of heart to walk this bridge. In a few days Venus will make a stepping stone on this bridge at 7 Sagittarius, bringing Love and self-worth into the mix. I feel that some of us have made this journey; we are waiting patiently for others to become aware and awake. The Mercury/Mars stepping stone provides the mind/body upgrades that will assist this awakening.
Juno (Scorpio) and Vesta (Aries) make a Great Eliminator (inconjunct) aspect giving us a choice in how we apply devotion to our relationships with our Selves. If we are not devoted to our own self-care, who is? Making those choices to care for our bodies and love with our minds can only serve to keep us in the present, and in gratitude.
