Dwarf planet Eris is a member of a group of objects that orbit in a disc-like zone beyond the orbit of Neptune called the Kuiper Belt. She is the only planet, however, to take 558 years to orbit the Sun. In this sense, she stands alone. She is unique in our solar system, and everything we learn about her will make this more evident.
Eris appears almost white. With a radius of about 722 miles, Eris is about 1/5 the radius of Earth. Like Pluto, Eris is a little smaller than Earth's Moon.
Eris is one of the largest known dwarf planets in our solar system. She is about the same size as Pluto, but is three times farther from the Sun. Eris first appeared to be larger than Pluto. This triggered a debate in the scientific community that led to the International Astronomical Union's decision in 2006 to clarify the definition of a planet. Pluto, Eris and other similar objects are now classified as dwarf planets. Therefore, Eris was responsible for the formation of the new "Dwarf Planet" classification and the reclassification, some say demotion, of Pluto—upsetting the apple cart, which is very much what Eris is known for.
Eris was discovered in the constellation Cetus, known as the whale, which in ancient times was viewed as a man-eating monster of the deep. Cetus is therefore a symbol for the collective unconscious realm of humanity. It exists in the cosmos just “out of bounds,” past our ecliptic, (aka the ring of constellations we call the zodiac), and can be found just outside and alongside the constellations of Pisces and Aries. It is a vast constellation, covering about 45 degrees of space.
Eris however, has an extreme orbital inclination (44°), which is almost twice as long as it is wide. Eris' extreme orbit takes her inside the orbit of Pluto, much like Pluto's orbit travels inside Neptune's. (This last occurred 1980 - 2000). Eris is slower moving than Pluto, taking more than twice as long to travel around the zodiac once, compared to Pluto’s 248 year orbit. All of this suggests that Eris, through a very long process, longer than any we are accustomed to, works to interrupt our unconscious sleep to wake us up from our long collective dream. Her action may at times be more intense and dramatic than Pluto’s effect, much like an earthquake or volcano that erupts after a long period of unsettled energy. But for the most part, her action is persistent and subtle, which makes for the distinct possibility of a powerfully disruptive moment from time to time.
Eris was discovered on January 5, 2005 and announced on July 29, 2005. The discovery team originally gave the planet the provisional name Xena, after the character in the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess played by actress Lucy Lawless. Eris was formally named on Sept 13, 2006 for the ancient Greek goddess of discord and strife. The name fits since Eris remains at the center of a scientific debate about the definition of a planet. She is truly the Great Disrupter.
As Eris orbits the Sun, it completes one rotation every 25.9 hours, making its day length similar to ours.
Even though Eris can be up to three times farther from the Sun than Pluto, it approaches close enough that some of the ice on the surface might change directly into vapor, perhaps forming a solid deposit again when it moves away. Eris is covered in methane. which is highly volatile, just as she is.

According to Nick Fiorenza, “Eris’ extreme eccentric orbit and its steep orbital inclination is our first clue to Eris’ rather radical and interceding nature. Planets with extreme eccentric orbits tend to bring awareness (or knowledge) from distant realms of consciousness into more conscious realms. Planets with extreme orbital inclinations tend to cut through the comfort of our existing sense of reality.”
Because of the high inclination of its orbit, Eris passes through only a few constellations of the traditional Zodiac; it is now in the constellation Cetus.

According to mythology, Eris was the Greek goddess of chaos, strife and discord. She was the daughter of Nyx (dark night) alone. She rode her chariot to war alongside Aries (Mars).
Eris played an important role in the events that eventually led to the Trojan War. All of the Olympians had been invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, who would become the parents of Achilles; however, Eris was not invited, due to her inclination to cause discord. As a means of revenge, Eris dropped the golden Apple of Discord into the party, which had the words To The Fairest One inscribed on it. Hera, Athena and Aphrodite started quarreling over who the apple should be given to, so Zeus appointed Paris, Prince of Troy, as the person to solve the dispute. The goddesses offered Paris various gifts, but he eventually picked Aphrodite, who promised him the most beautiful woman in the world; Helen, wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta. (greekmythology.com)
Eris has one Moon, named for one of her daughters, Dysnomia, who is said to be the "spirit of lawlessness"—disrupter of civil order. Dysnomia has a nearly circular orbit lasting about 16 days. However, in myth, Eris had two daughters, Dysnomia and the peaceable one, Eunomia, who ends strife, returns order and maintains social stability.
Eris’ disruptive effects can linger for quite a stretch while we get over the upheaval she creates. It is built into Eris’ orbital process to take some time for her more positive results to manifest, which always come after discord.
For example, although the discovery of Eris invariably created disorder at first, a new order followed, in this case producing a new classification of Dwarf Planets (which is fitting to the theme of daughter Eunomia). This is significant when considering Eris' astrological character. Eris dismantles limiting conceptual boundaries to open us to a more authentic embrace of the bigger truth. Thus, Eris expands our awareness by upsetting existing, limiting and antiquated structures of consciousness.
Eris opens us to see beyond the finite bounds of our current perception, beyond the bounds we place upon ourselves, shaking up what is stagnant in consciousness. In doing so, we are left to redefine and reorganize our world view to embrace a far vaster reality—a view more fitting to our rapidly expanding awareness.(Thank you Nick Fiorenza).
Eris is currently out of bounds, traveling outside the ecliptic (which houses our zodiac) and she has been moving through the constellation Cetus for nearly 100 years. She is currently running parallel to 24 Aries in the tropical zodiac, which puts the female Great Awakener close to 0 Aries in the sidereal system. She is currently traveling parallel to the tail end of the constellation Pisces, and will arrive at 0 Aries in 2024. This transit, again 100 years long, has taken us from the depths of our subconscious realm (Cetus) to the realm of human consciousness (Pisces) and eventually to the Great Awakening of Humanity (Aries). 0 Aries is the birthing point of the western world. This is truly a new beginning, the birthing of the new order, the coming together of the two worlds.
Eris is the main dispositor of Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus is the newest quality of consciousness (or sign) we have available to us. It is known as the Serpent Bearer. In a recent workshop, Derek O’Neill said it is the emotions we must go after, not the mind. To do so we have to hang on to the serpent, and let it take us deep into the center of our hearts, where all the answers are. (I am paraphrasing... this is what I got out of his teaching). This is how we begin to work with Ophiuchus. We ride the serpent and take that second bite out of the apple that we misunderstood the first time. We have come full circle. We are at the beginning again. It is up to us to write a new story line, with our new consciousness.
Eris’ retrograde cycle moves her back and forth over a degree or two each year. Much like the Black Moon, she dances over the same degrees repeatedly, as though the constant communion with that part of our consciousness is what is needed to wake us up. Eris’ retrograde lasts about 25 weeks.
Eris is the only other planet or point in our solar system (at this moment) that dances wildly back and forth, like the Black Moon does. She is a Great Disrupter, an awakener, and she is here to shake things up. The Black Moon has a similar function, unveiling the Truth for all to see.
When Eris stations, either retrograde or direct, it can feel like an intense emotional upheaval. It doesn't have to be out of control, but it can definitely feel that way on the inside. Sometimes, we are so stuck in our old emotional habits that it is nearly impossible to get unstuck. The emotional disturbances of Eris are meant to take us to higher ground. When we are in Eris' storm period, (which lasts about a week before her station) don't be surprised to find emotional disturbances everywhere you turn. Keep to your Self, as other people's issues are none of your business, even when they try to make them so. Stay as centered as you can, keep breathing, deeply, and let those storms rage. They are clearing the field for each and every soul and soon we will have brand new territory to play in.
Eris' energy crackles with intensity. It is overwhelmingly disruptive, making us inwardly uncomfortable. Discontentment comes over the soul, and depending on how willing we are to accept discomfort for the agent of change that it is, we will experience anything from inner rumblings to a full blown earthquake that unsettles us or unearths us completely, to, at the most conscious level, an all-out volcanic eruption that blows our stack and causes us to emit the hot lava that has been building up inside us, sometimes for centuries. She can be considered a great excavator of sorts.
It gives new meaning to the truth that there is a blessing in every circumstance. We are beginning to get the hang of allowing our discomforts to just Be what they are, and we are learning that by doing so, we get to see the real reasons why they arise. It is now possible to redefine her highly judged tendency to be quick tempered and perceive it for what it really is: a passionate devotion to raising consciousness; the mastery that does not allow for too much sleeping or laziness, and the capacity to create the upheaval that is essential to clearing away the old and preparing for the new.
Eris is the female AWAKENER, and her purpose in causing us so much unrest is just that... Self-realization. Uranus awakens us with a lightning bolt, Eris awakens us with an inner event. She is not content to jolt us, or hit us with something that will disrupt the outer life... she aims with great precision at the core of our being, at our lower three chakras, and aims to get us to clear them all out. Uranus' revelations occur at the mental level, and Eris' occur within, at the core, in the heart.
There is a real reason why everyone on the planet today appears to have Eris in Aries. With each new degree Eris transits, we all awaken en masse to whatever she manages to provoke in our consciousness. Of course, that provocation comes from within, not from the planet herself. The planet is a reflection of what is taking place within. Aries is disposed by Mars, which has domain over the physical body. Eris' purpose right now is to clear us out at the lower levels of our physical being, (the lower three very physically oriented chakras), in preparation for her entry into Taurus in 2046, where the wise awakener will take aim at the heart center.
Eris is a lot like a loud alarm clock that goes off when we are in the middle of a deep and peaceful sleep. We may not like it when it goes off, but it wakes us efficiently. When she goes off, it is definitely time to wake up.
When the energetic atmosphere becomes distinctly uncomfortable, but we can't quite see anything yet, that could be compared to being soundly asleep, unaware that the alarm is about to go off. Fortunately, for those of us who are ready, willing and able to wake up easily, the alarm is no big deal. It serves an important purpose, which we embrace. We turn it off, get up and do what we have to do.
Look for anything in you or anyone in your life that is bringing the element of discontentment or disruption to your world. That is Eris at work, generating the inner earthquake or volcanic eruption that will soon awaken you.
The Sun—the heart of our solar system—is a yellow dwarf star, a hot ball of glowing gases.
Its gravity holds the solar system together, keeping everything from the biggest planets to the smallest particles of debris in its orbit. It is 26,000 light years from the Galactic Center, the Source of our galaxy.
The Sun and the rest of the solar system formed from a giant, rotating cloud of gas and dust called a solar nebula about 4.5 billion years ago. As the nebula collapsed because of its overwhelming gravity, it spun faster and flattened into a disk. Most of the material was pulled toward the center to form our Sun, which accounts for 99.8% of the mass of the entire solar system.
Like other stars, the Sun is a ball of gas, made of hydrogen and helium. The Sun's enormous mass is held together by gravitational attraction, producing immense pressure and temperature at its core.
Though it is special to us, there are billions of stars like our Sun scattered across the Milky Way galaxy, Our Sun is not an especially large star—many are several times bigger—but it is still far more massive than our home planet.
The Sun has six regions: the core, the radiative zone, and the convective zone in the interior; the visible surface, called the photosphere; the chromosphere; and the outermost region, the corona.
The surface of the Sun, the photosphere, is 300-miles -thick, and from it most of the Sun's radiation escapes outward. We see radiation from the photosphere as sunlight when it reaches Earth about eight minutes after it leaves the Sun. Above the photosphere lie the tenuous chromosphere and the corona (crown), which make up the thin solar atmosphere. This is where we see features such as sunspots and solar flares.
The electric currents in the Sun generate a complex magnetic field that extends out into space to form the interplanetary magnetic field. The volume of space controlled by the Sun's magnetic field is called the heliosphere. The Sun's magnetic field is carried out through the solar system by the solar wind—a stream of electrically charged gas blowing outward from the Sun in all directions.
The Sun doesn't behave the same way all the time. It goes through phases of its own solar cycle. Approximately every 11 years, the Sun’s geographic poles change their magnetic polarity. When this happens, the Sun goes through changes that range from quiet and calm to violently active. The height of the Sun’s activity is a time of solar storms: sunspots, solar flares and coronal mass ejections. These are caused by irregularities in the Sun's magnetic field and can release huge amounts of energy and particles, some of which reach us here on Earth. This space weather can damage satellites, corrode pipelines and affect power grids.
The Sun, and everything that orbits it, is located in the Milky Way galaxy. More specifically, our Sun is in a spiral arm called the Orion Spur that extends outward from the Sagittarius arm. From there, the Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, bringing the planets, asteroids, comets and other objects along with it. Our solar system is moving with an average velocity of 450,000 miles per hour. But even at this speed, it takes us about 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way.
The Sun rotates as it orbits the center of the Milky Way. Its spin has an axial tilt of 7.25 degrees with respect to the plane of the planets’ orbits. Since the Sun is not a solid body, different parts of the Sun rotate at different rates.
NASA’s Parker Solar Probe was launched August 12, 2018 and has probed the Sun 5 times since then. This year (2020), the mission is moving on to explore Venus, on October 3.
A number of ancient cultures built stone structures, such as Stonehenge, or modified natural rock formations to mark the motions of the Sun. They charted the seasons, created calendars and monitored solar and lunar eclipses.
There are many Sun gods and goddesses, according to the various religions and regions. For example, the Greek Sun god was originally Helios, and later Apollo. His Celtic counterpart was called Lugh. There are Sun goddesses too: Sunna from Norse mythology and Amaterasu, a major deity of the Shinto religion in Japan. Every single culture has its own version of the Sun’s mythology and they are all very diverse. In Cosmic Consciousness, our Sun is a stepped down version of the Great Central Sun (Source). It is a representation of the SON of God, but the force and life giving energies it provides are but a fraction of the Truth of its essence. Everything in our solar system is a stepped down version of the Truth.
The Sun only appears to travel through the signs. The Sun doesn't really move from our perspective, but it APPEARS to move about a degree a day, because the Earth moves at that rate. It travels along a path we call the ecliptic. The ecliptic is the band of the cosmos that marks the Sun's entire journey during the course of a year. It could be considered the realm of our waking consciousness. The Solstice is an interesting phenomenon, in that it is the closest thing to a station of the Sun that we have. The Sun never goes retrograde, but when it approaches a solstice, either in June or in December, it slows down a great deal, so much so that it barely moves for three days.
After a Solstice, the Sun will rise a little bit higher, or lower, each morning depending on which hemisphere we are in. When the Sun ‘stations’, our consciousness takes a turn. In the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere, we are turning inward, connecting more deeply with our inner planes; in the Summer Solstice we are expressing our energies outward.
What we are is immediately reflected in the cosmos, and the cosmos is effectively interacting with our collective consciousness at the same time. That is, as we raise our awareness level, the Sun participates in our transmutation.
The Sun represents the energy you use to express your unique individuality. It provides you with your consciousness at the most personal level. In the higher sense the Sun reflects your higher consciousness, which is now being reactivated and rediscovered. The SUN is the great
metaphor for the SON, the one Creation of Source.
The Sun and Moon are known as the LIGHTS and they are the generators of our consciousness, especially at the most personal, most individual level. As one of the Lights, the Sun co-disposes your lower spiritual body (with the Moon), providing expression for your masculine energy, or, your creative and expressive side. Through the Sun you experience your personal power and access your life force energy. The Sun is the quintessential archetype for the masculine (spirit). It imparts life, Light and consciousness.
The Sun disposes Leo, sign of inner gratitude and emotional Love. Leo is the Sun's home sign, and the Sun has dignity here. Leo represents the heart, the Life Force, and the Sun represents our consciousness of Self. Everything brightens and lightens when the Sun is in Leo. Our spirits should lift considerably and If nothing else, we can expect plenty of clarity and a new sense of realization.
When the Sun changes signs, the general atmosphere of our conscious awareness shifts to a new part of our energy field. Our individual energy field is made up of 13 different qualities of consciousness. With the advent of Ophiuchus, the 13th sign, the Sun now spends varying amounts of time traveling through each of the signs. We have grown accustomed to the 30 days the Sun spends in each sign, but that is no longer our reality. The new consciousness has so much to reveal about the nature of the different signs we work with.
A solar year, the time it takes for our Sun to make one journey around the Great Central Sun, and all the signs of the Zodiac, takes 24,000 years. The Great Central Sun is not the same thing as the Galactic Center, but our Galactic Center and the nearby Suns of other Galaxies in our neighborhood all revolve around the Great Central Sun, which is also known as the Sun behind the Sun. Our solar system has been within the major band of Light cast by the Great Central Sun. Additionally, our Sun is currently in alignment with the Galactic Center of our Galaxy, a phenomenon that occurs once every 12.000 years.
When the solar year begins, the Sun of our Solar system is aligned with the Galactic Center (also the Winter Solstice point, which at this time is seen to be at 0 Capricorn). It is important to note that 0 Capricorn is less than 3 degrees away from the Galactic Center, and for the purposes of Cosmic Consciousness, they are one and the same point. The Winter Solstice point is the place where all cycles begin.
The sign and hour your Sun is placed in are your lifelong landmarks, the most comfortable and familiar ways for you to focus your energies. The Sun in your natal chart indicates how to access your vital life force, personal power and limitless creativity. The Sun confers confidence and talent, and through your own personal experiences, causes you to discover the leadership capacity within. Depending on the way you utilize the vital power the Sun offers you, the personal vibration of your individuality will emerge over the years and shine forth throughout the course of your lifetime. It is the symbol of your Ego.
The transiting Sun lights up the area of your life (the hour) it is moving through, bringing new energy and conscious awareness to everything it touches. When the transiting Sun moves over a planet in your birth chart, it vitalizes that planet's energies, and stimulates new awareness and creativity with regard to that planet's expression in your life. The Sun's transit always deals with Identity issues at the most personal level.
The fourth planet from the Sun, Mars is a dynamic planet with ice caps, canyons and volcanoes and ancient lake beds. Mars is half the size of Earth, but has nearly the same area as Earth’s dry land. There is water on Mars today, located just under the surface in the polar ice cap regions. If melted, the volume of water would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 36 feet.
The ancient Romans named Mars for their god of war because his reddish color, caused by the oxidation of iron minerals, was reminiscent of blood. Other civilizations also named the planet for this attribute. Even today, he is frequently called the "Red Planet", although he is actually many colors at the surface, such as brown, gold and tan.
Mars has the largest dust storms in the Solar System, reaching speeds of over 100 mph. These can vary from a storm over a small area, to gigantic storms that cover the entire planet. They tend to occur when Mars is closest to the Sun.
Mars completes one rotation on his own axis every 24.6 hours, which is very similar to one day on Earth (23.9 hours). Martian days are called sols—short for "solar day." A year on Mars lasts 669.6 sols, or 687 Earth days. In other words, it takes Mars about 1 3/4 earth years to travel around the zodiac once.
Another similarity with Earth is Mars' axial tilt, which is 25 degrees with respect to the plane of its orbit around the Sun; Earth’s axial tilt is 23.4 degrees. The axial tilt creates the seasons. Mars has distinct seasons that last longer than Earth’s, because Mars takes longer to orbit the Sun (it's farther away). And while Earth seasons are evenly spread over the year, lasting 3 months (or one quarter of a year), because of its elliptical orbit, Martian seasons vary in length. For example, Northern winter on Mars is 154 sols, and Southern winter is 178 sols.
Mars has no rings, but it has 2 small moons that are among the smallest in the solar system. They are named Phobos (fear/panic) and Deimos (dread/terror) for the mythological sons of Ares, the Greek god of war. They're potato-shaped because they have too little mass for gravity to make them spherical. Phobos is a bit larger than Deimos, and is the only moon in the solar system that orbits so closely to its planet. He whips around Mars three times a day, while the more distant Deimos takes 30 hours for each orbit.
Mars travels about ¾ degree a day, more slowly than the Sun, and spends approximately 6 weeks in a sign when he is moving at his fastest pace. Mars stations retrograde approximately once every 22 to 24 months, moving backwards for about 70 days. That said, his retrograde cycle is the least concise of all our planets. Mars can go retrograde for five weeks or a few months.
As one of the most explored bodies in our solar system, Mars is the only planet where we've sent rovers to roam his landscape. NASA currently has three spacecraft in orbit, one rover (Curiosity) and one lander (InSight), on the surface, and another rover (Perseverance) that launched in July 2020.
In ancient Roman religion and myth, Mars was called the god of war, but he was also known as an agricultural guardian, a combination characteristic of early Rome. He was the son of Jupiter and he was considered the most prominent of the military gods in the religion of the Roman army. Mars represented military power as a way to secure peace, and was a ‘father’ (pater) of the Roman people. Rome was a patriarchal society, and it would have been impossible to consider Mars anything but a man’s man. His earthy roots became less focal as he grew more identified with the “great warrior,” when in fact mythology tells us he had another origin, which turns out to be most significant.
Mars is usually considered to be the son of Jupiter and Juno. However, in a version of his birth given by Ovid, he was the son of Juno alone. Jupiter had usurped the mother's function when he gave birth to Minerva directly from his forehead (or mind) without help from a woman. In an effort to restore the balance, Juno sought the advice of the goddess Flora on how to give birth without a man. Flora obtained a magic flower, touched Juno's belly, and impregnated her. Mars, therefore, was born of Juno and a flower. He is and always has been of the Earth. As an agricultural guardian, he directs his energies toward creating conditions that allow crops to grow and make for a more comfortable physical experience.
According to Wikipedia, in the mythic genealogy and founding myths of Rome, Mars was the father of Romulus and Remus, who laid out the founding city wall of Rome. Venus was the divine mother of the hero Aeneas, celebrated as the Trojan refugee who "founded" Rome several generations before Romulus and Remus. Mars’ love affair with Venus was created to symbolically reconcile the two different traditions of Rome's founding. This relationship between Venus and Mars was at best contrived to make sense out of a patriarchal reality, but the connection between the two is not about a love affair. Venus and Mars, dispositors of heart and body, co-dispose the feminine domain. The Divine Feminine cannot be everything it's meant to be if the two do not work in cooperation with each other.
Virility as a kind of life force or virtue is an essential characteristic of Mars. He is the dynamic expression of the Divine Feminine. For Mars to be effective in his purpose, he must work in tandem, in alignment with the Feminine (heart) principle. Action born of the heart is Right Action, and that has always been the Truth of the Mars archetype.
3D is the physical realm. Mars is so similar to the Earth, it makes sense that he is so powerfully connected to our physicality. The physical realm is made of duality. It has to be, because physicality is based on separation. There can be no physicality without each of us and everything else here being separate and individual. Physicality brings birth and death (more appropriately, transition) into being. It creates the illusion of me and you. Mars’ themes can be anything from an upsurge of anger or passion, to a physical issue that you can't ignore, to the very conscious alignment of the actions you take.
Mars rules the physical body, and that means YOUR body, and also your physical realm: Your home, your office, the land you live on, the city, the town, the country, the planet. The universe. All of this is your physical world.
In 3D we can get ‘sick' and require healing. In 5D we know that we are always whole, and any physical issue is a clearing, which is necessary to help us remember our natural state. Pain needs attention, and so does anything in the world that displays a lack of wholeness. The only kind of attention that works on anything in this new world is Love. We call that 'wholing' in 5D.
Mars' retrograde is typically a major exercise in learning to tend to the body and the physical world in all new ways. It gives us the chance to review the actions we’ve taken toward this end, and to revise or renew our focus regarding the care of our bodies. As we live in a physical world first and foremost, and there is no way to get to the higher realm without beginning here, we must learn to get ‘right’ with our bodies and our physical environment. The retrograde cycle can offer the best opportunity to do so.
Mars is a personal planet, and he has domain over the physical in the lower four body system. By extension, he expresses his archetype through all your energy and action. The physical experience is EARTHY, and the earth element is always unequivocally feminine. Mars is the white dot in the black side of the yin yang symbol. He is that little bit of male (drive) that is part of the female Self.
Mars has long been known as the Great Activator. What IS new about Mars is his new status as a male counterpart/co-dispositor of the divine feminine Self. This process that has begun is, very simply put, the beginning of a massive collective act of surrender that delivers us to a new kind of unconditional Love. It will inform our actions from here on in.
An archetype is a collective consciousness. It doesn't matter what you understand or know about it intellectually. If the collective holds Mars to be THE male archetype, even if it isn't the truth, the world will do all it can to mold that misguided energy to fit the mistake. It is important to note that Aries is the affinity sign, the mirrored image, of Virgo, representing THE Divine Feminine essence.
Mars has been misinterpreted for thousands of years. He is reclaiming his righteous power, the power to act from the heart. This new expression of Mars' energy will make for the possibility of a truer, more empowered balance within the feminine Self. When the male energy returns home to the feminine, unity is restored. The duality that has permeated this world for thousands of years will be no more once this is achieved. Mars is learning to switch from the warrior identity to the much more peaceful heart-felt mode of Right Action.
Faith is a huge component of Right Action. Trust in your own heart, and in the perfection of the Universe, is essential. Now that Mars has taken up his full archetypal position as co-dispositor of the divine Feminine, we can never again take action with full integrity without coming from the heart and allowing the heart to move us.
Like Mars, Mercury has been misrepresented. From the beginning, Mercury has been collectively believed to be androgynous. While this may be a little closer to the Truth, (because EVERYTHING is ultimately androgynous), Mercury has ALWAYS had domain over the mind, and the mind HAS ALWAYS been the realm of the masculine. Mercury is the Masculine archetype in the new consciousness.
Mercury and Mars have switched places, Mercury becoming the true male archetype, clearing up eons of confusion about what male energy actually is. Mercury and Mars represent the new mind/body alignment. It's a new world and it’s in our best interest to become accustomed to it.
Mars disposes Aries, the sign of the divine spark of creation. Mars is foreign in Libra, thriving in Capricorn, and on the Master Path in Cancer. Mars is also known as the Great Energizer, the great activator, the divine spark, the trigger and most recently, Right Action.
Once related to the great warrior within you, Mars has more recently become the honorable keeper of the physical experience. He was connected to war and fighting for so long because the separation that happens when you take a physical form generates the fear that produces the survival instinct. With Love and peace becoming the more significant focus, Mars now grounds you in your physical being, allowing for the full expression of your individuality. With the arrival of our super technology, in the form of the rover Curiosity, on Mars a few years ago, you now have access to a much more super-sensory experience of your physicality. There is no telling what these multidimensional eyes, ears and fingers will reveal in the years ahead, but you are living at the most amazing time to be in a physical body.

THE 13TH SIGN: OPHIUCHUS
Yes, there is a 13th sign and it is called Ophiuchus. In Truth it has been here all along, and like everything else in our solar system that is constantly expanding, it is our newly emerging consciousness that makes it possible to embrace the existence of this sign. Three thousand years ago the Babylonians were well aware of Ophiuchus, but they consciously decided to leave it out for the purpose of making the remaining twelve signs nice and equal. Yet the constellations are anything but equal. In 2016 NASA announced the absolute existence of Ophiuchus, saying it has always been there, “we just did the Math.”
As we move through the Self realization process, it becomes important to take a much closer, more intimate look at what the cosmos actually reveals. It is the best reflection of the higher Self that we have available to us, and it is in our best interest to see what it truly has to show us after all this time. Like every sign, Ophiuchus is a constellation. The 12 signs we are aware of appear to form a circle. But these constellations don’t exist; the stars that make them up are actually nowhere near each other. Each sign appears to form a picture that we have named. The reason we all perceive the same zodiac is because it reflects our collective consciousness. We can only ever perceive what we project.
Three thousand years ago humanity was planting the fields and hunting. When we looked out into the heavens to see our reflection, we saw animals and things related to the harvest. But we have evolved radically during this last Age, and our consciousness now reflects a much more spiritual and highly evolved set of symbols. It is these new 5D symbols that will become important to us as we begin to journey into the Truth of the sacred geometry of our personal nature.
Unlike every other constellation, Ophiuchus exists mostly outside the zodiac circle. When you look at it in 2D (on paper) or 3D (from the perspective of separation), it appears to sit just outside the perimeter of the zodiac circle, overlapping Scorpio and Sagittarius.
Our solar system is moving through the cosmos, and because of this, the zodiac appears to have shifted about 23 degrees since the time when we began to be conscious of the heavens. This precession of the equinoxes moves backwards, or counterclockwise, through the cosmos. The constellation Ophiuchus was originally found around the winter solstice point, 0 Capricorn, but has moved, with everything else in the heavens, and it is currently located somewhere between Scorpio and Sagittarius. The area from the end of Scorpio through about ⅔ of Sagittarius contains the imprint of the Ophiuchan sign (from November 29 to December 17).
Ophiuchus does not span 30 degrees (in actuality many of the constellations do not cover the equal 30 degree span). It seems important to mention that this sign has qualities that are unlike any of the others, in that it exists only in 5D and beyond, giving it properties that relate to unity and Love, taking us outside time and space all together. Ophiuchus has no gender and no opposite. It exists outside duality. The only element it appears to belong to is Ether.
When you observe Ophiuchus from a 5D perspective, you can see that it is not “outside” the zodiac; it is extradimensional, overlaying it. Ophiuchus does in fact cross the ecliptic and so is part of the zodiac. A broader perspective is required to access the consciousness that Ophiuchus represents. The sign exists in everyone’s chart, but only an awakened soul will be able to access it and make good use of it. The constellation Ophiuchus is known as The Serpent Bearer. We are all familiar with the meaning of the serpent. At the lower levels of our awareness the snake represents the ego, the part of us that causes self-sabotage. A more awakened focus reveals the connection between the snake and the kundalini energies that run through our chakra system and eventually awakens us to our higher Being.
Ophiuchus provides a portal between the most conscious qualities of both Scorpio the Alchemist and Sagittarius The Truth Seeker. The Serpent Bearer has awakened to the higher Truths and triumphed over the lower self once and for all. The adventurous Sagittarius Archer, shooting arrows at various targets, looking for something True, becomes the dedicated Truth-seeker, who has realized the limitations of habitual behavior and consciously moves beyond it into the new world.
In the Capricorn quality of our consciousness we experience our connection with Source. Source is actually the Galactic Center, which falls at 27 Sagittarius. That is the Portal of Truth, and it is just beyond Ophiuchan territory; it is not Sagittarius, not Capricorn, but the void in between the two. This void is the place where we are reborn and resurrected. This gives some clue about the essence of Ophiuchus. When we are ready for it, this experience requires acceptance, surrender and the ability to allow our Self the full-blown belief that there is something beyond what we think we know.
Most of us are still in the Scorpio/Sagittarius/Capricorn realm of paying dues, going through hell and painfully paying the price. This is what we have been doing for all these millennia. Now we have arrived at the breakthrough moment, which is the portal to Ophiuchus. In February of 2020, scientists announced the occurrence of a major explosion in the constellation of Ophiuchus. According to Philip Sedgwick, a groundbreaking astrologer of our times, “[Such an explosion] symbolically represents the collapse of the little ego, the attenuation of one's faulty psychology. But first and foremost, the failure of the ego to support the person in the physical realm must precede the evolutionary step. Once ego has been fully utilized and fails, the individual listens to urges of spirit….. The pre-explosion mass loss symbolically represents the shedding of unnecessary defenses, attachments or "baggage." This shedding propagates an acceleration and a passionate heating up for the pursuit of one's purpose. Suddenly, virtually instantly, everything about the core of one's being burst forth, as soon as life’s unnecessary matter gets shed.”
With the announcement from NASA in 2016 and the news of this amazing explosion earlier this year, Ophiuchus becomes a part of our energy field that we are finally becoming capable of accessing. It has a meaning that we have not experienced before. Unless we move through this portal by transcending duality and the fear-based reality we have been manifesting for so long, we cannot experience the Truth of Ophiuchus.
There is a magical, magnetic quality to an Ophiuchan soul. If you were born between November 29 and December 17, you are Ophiuchan, or you will realize that you are, once you awaken to the higher Truth. That Truth begins with the awareness that you do not belong to the animal kingdom, you are a spiritual being having a human experience. Your higher Self is capable of triumphing over the ego, and the full blown move into 5D consciousness is at hand.
Sacred geometry is the fabric of our universe. When we look at the cosmos we must be able to see that sacred geometry, and recognize it as our Selves. If nearly every one of us turns out to be inhabiting the consciousness of the sign before the one we think we are, we must honor that Truth, and begin to surrender to the shift that this requires. Twenty-three degrees approaches a semisextile. A semisextile is an aspect of sacred geometry that in Cosmic Consciousness is called the aspect of intimacy. The time has come for each of us to be willing to look with open honesty at the Truth of who we are.
When we can look in the mirror and see our own Truth, it becomes essential to allow that Truth to sink in. Surrender is such an important path toward awakening, because it delivers us to the Divine Feminine within each of us. When we look at the actual zodiac, it becomes apparent that Virgo, the sign of the Virgin Mother, is the progenitor, the Portal of Truth, the beginning of the whole human story. She is the Divine Mother. Surrender has become one of the most important disciplines any awakening soul can undertake. Applying the will to perceive the Truth of one’s Self can deliver us to that Feminine Source, and from there the new world is born. It may take a while to wrap our hearts and minds around this, but we are living in a new world and that begins with the cosmos; as above so below.
Our solar system has changed radically in the last 15-20 years and it was only a matter of “time” before the neighborhood began to look different too. Each of the signs is now a different size and takes up a different ‘moment’ in the zodiacal year. Once Ophiucus is embraced, the rest of the zodiac must be accommodated.
